Ata Mariota named in NSW Cup Team of the Year

The NSWRL is pleased to announce The NSW Cup Team of the Year. The NSW Cup Team of the Year is determined by NSWRL staff and recognises the best performing players in their respective positions from the regular season. This is the first time a team has been selected since 2019 after the past two seasons were forced to be abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Canberra Raiders prop Ata Mariota produced five tries, 25 offloads and an average of 121 run metres in 2022.

Canberra Raiders NRL rookie Ata Mariota adds to sensational year with NSW Cup honour

Ata Mariota was on Sunday named in the NSW Cup team of the year.

"He's a future NRL player for the club and we've been excited this year about his growth and his game," coach Ricky Stuart said. "It's a very difficult assignment being a young middle and his attitude towards training and his hard work ethic is what's going to make him very good NRL player.

Congratulations to Ata. He looks a fine player and will have champions like Taps and Papa to learn from. HorsPower and Emre Guler will be under some pressure to maintain form.
