Arnie J really let loose this week. Hard to disagree with the substance of it, if not the delivery and the particular comments.

Two weeks and no Danny Stuart a major concern. Though as I have mentioned before, I’ve injured myself at the gym bursting into laughter as he does his “in regards to…”

Danny's been doing it a bit tough of late.

Rick's still not returning his calls and he's been drinking heavily.

Hopefully a bit of a break will do him good and he'll be right to return after the bye.

Really enjoyed Arnie J exposing how much of a liability Whitehead is now.

He has been on the decline since about July 2020 and the brains trust decided to voluntarily place lead in our saddle bags by signing him up long term despite the obvious decline.

Why oh why does Ricky always take months or years too long to finally make the necessary calls on these sorts of things.

The Pork is bang on that the Raiders more than most clubs need to show loyalty. So I’m okay with letting players go a bit past their peak to make it clear to everyone it’s the right call before axing a sacred cow (assuming we’re not in a year where we’re legitimately tilting at the premiership).

But they just need to cut the 3/4/5 year contracts on those players. That’s the real issue. It’s not that Whitehead is playing below average in some games this year. It’s that he’s still contracted to 2024 that’s a worry.

This is fair.

Im also not saying that EW should be banished to NSW cup for the next 3 years. As was rightly pointed out during the pod, he has still had periods this year where he plays like a first grade 2nd rower.

But he looks like he is really struggling with the pace of the game these days, and often looks completely gassed during a game, and this means he can’t contribute in attack nor fulfil his assignments in defence.

There should be a full on transition taking place right now whereby EWs minutes are being progressively reduced and he is seeing more bench time; and our other options or players of the future such as CHN and Rushton etc are given more minutes.

Yeah, thought the brief discussion of leveraging squads more in nrl was an interesting one.

No podcast this week guys.

We’ve decided to take the bye week off so we can recharge the batteries for the run to the finals.

How has Blake not heard Corey Horsburgh interviewed before this week?

Also… while I’m at it, and as we know the GMP are reading… how has Soulsy not yet worked out how to pronounce the “Maroons” correctly!? They’re not marooned on a desert island. The Queensland team’s name is pronounced “Mar-owns”. It is culturally insensitive.

Haha, I can guarantee you ‘soulsy’ won’t be reading this, but I’ll pass your constructive criticism along!

No show this week but we’ll be back next week after the bye.

In the meantime Danny Stuart was good enough to record a piece.

No show this week. I’ve decided to stay up at the Gold Coast to bask in the sunshine and the glory of Hudson Young’s flick pass. See you at the Panthers game Saturday.

This was a good listen - well done for putting it together.

A suggestion - there was a joke about the GH Forum members would commit suicide if we had lost to Newcastle, or words to that effect. We shouldn't joke about suicide and mental health issues after what's happened recently with Paul Green.

Yeah good point.
That was part of the Shark's bit and I actually considered editing it out.
Probably should have in hindsight.

Looking forward to the 100th guys! I'll try not to listen at midnight and doze off during it...

P.S. How did this week's episode end up LONGER without Heather? :hmmm

Perfect timing to have the 100 in the lead up to the most unlikely of finals.

Didn’t the Pork call this 8 or 9 weeks ago? Have to play a clip on that!
