Slower than a snail in reverse. Couldn't break a tackle and made stupid handling errors. But, he is our what....5th choice winger? Hoping HSS is ready next year.

You can’t say he doesn’t learn from his mistakes. After dropping the first kick that went to him with nobody around him he adapted and managed to avoid getting under another kick all game. Similarly after early defensive errors he managed to avoid putting himself in a position to make a tackle in defence.

MATCH REPORT: Canberra Raiders keep finals hopes alive with convincing win over Gold Coast Titans
The Canberra Raiders have put themselves in the perfect position to make a late-season charge charge to the NRL finals. Not even being reduced to 12 men for 10 minutes could stop them from comfortably beating the Gold Coast Titans 36-24 at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
The Raiders have a couple of concerns of their own with Adam Elliott (hip) unable to finish the game, while prop Emre Guler was put on report for high contact on David Fifita.
CANBERRA RAIDERS 36 (Nick Cotric 2, Sebastian Kris 2, Matt Timoko, Hudson Young, Joe Tapine tries; Jamal Fogarty 4 goals) defeated GOLD COAST TITANS 24 (Jayden Campbell 2, Brian Kelly, Tanah Boyd tries; Toby Sexton 4 goals) at Gold Coast. Referee: Ben Cummins.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

I asked if he could play fullback as I seem to recall that being suggested when we recruited him. It was noted by another poster that he was slow. I questioned why we bother recruiting slow outside backs. You came to the party late and said he was slow (there is an irony there). I said slow is bad and noted that although Edrick Lee was no world beater for us at least he was quick and had potential but no matter how Hoppa develops he will always be slow. You then said Lee was better than Hoppa. I noted that you have an odd way of saying the same thing as others while seeming to be in disagreement. You then wrongly suggest that I said Hoppa should be a fullback.

I think Kris being our top tryscorer at centre, and playing his best footy at left centre, makes him, in effect...
A centre.

His week to week impact is probably not far behind Tolo the year he won it. I suspect he might suffer from playing in a team that has lost too many so as much as he is our best the 3-2-1 votes go to the other team.

Jacky boy, dear, no more backflips please, they make all of us very nervous...
Cronulla have given us a hand by beating Souths and keeping them in our range. Brisbane/Tigers tonight isn't relevant, but a Cowboys win tomorrow is very helpful for us.

To detour from whatever is being talked about:
We aren’t making the 8 based on f/a, my gut says we need 30 points so can only drop one more game. (False hope or not) but I think we can do it
Lose 2 and we (somehow) get in, you beauty. Won’t happen imo

Nah I won't cop that. Leilua was sublime for Canberra over a very long stretch. I've never been able to bring myself to re-watxh what u folded about 5 metres in front of me at the grand final. But he was a gun. 2016 Leilua in attack is unparalleled as an out and out centre in the modern game for mine.radicalraider wrote: ↑July 30, 2022, 5:04 pm Chn is bj leilua in disguise... dumb and inconsistent.. drop the clown

Re: 2022 Rd 20 V Titans: Game Day
Few things put of this game and thread.
- Savage is a work in progress. Infuriating at times but there are no other options. And his superiority to CNK in attack can not be overstated.
- Hopoate. Had a great game last week. But he's just too limited. He's short. He's slow. He's rigid. He's better than Valemei. But he has to be your #30 player really. He'll never be a genuine first grader imo.
- I like the Seb Kris kudos. Very good centre. And in fact if these were our top 2 centres (with HSS about as well) we probably have the best monetary output combo there in the comp.
- We need to sign a genuine lock. We will miss Elliott.

We'll need to look at making 1 season's worth of Elliot out of Trey Mooney and Harry Rushton next year.

Re: 2022 Rd 20 V Titans: Game Day
Elliott is indeed playing good footy and i give him all the credit in the world for that, but i reckon in 12 months time, when Mooney is getting the Elliott minutes, no one will be worried about losing Elliott. We'll have a better player for half the cost.
