I think the way Ricky laughed at Savage's injury questions in the presser he's being well informed on what that's all about. There's definitely an inside joke there he almost let slip.Botman wrote: ↑July 25, 2022, 10:48 am Probably not a bad call with CNK in a vacuum, having an ability to spell him on the wing for 5-10 minutes once or twice a game might help him game to game, but one thing i think is super important for Savage as we get to the end of the season is to actually play and play through the niggles. It's the only way he's going to condition himself to it, and it's what he needs leading into the next off season. I want him going into the off season fully understand the physical nature and toll the game takes week in and week out, and for him to continue to focus on his gym work with that in mind.

No way I'd consider dropping Hoppa Jr Jr after his match on the weekend. Cotric can cover fullback at a pinch if Savage picks up some niggles, or if we think Savage is vulnerable then Cnk can get a spot on the bench. No way you drop your no.1 tough carries yardage man in the back 3 to cover potential injuries.

So in the space of a couple of days…...
- A team loses due to a bunker blunder:
- A player is sacked for tik toking himself smoking at half time
- 7 player threaten to stand down for not wanting to wear a pride jumper.
Incredibly none of these things involve the raiders! What are the odds of that??? Let’s enjoy being on the good side for once!

Re: 2022 Rd 20 V Titans: Teams and Previews
just wanna say
1. how bad is the bunker these days...tigers (who deserve the 2 points), are fighting to claim the 2 points...it wont happen otherwise Raiders deserve at least 3 points (2 vs warriors, 1 vs dragons)
2. dale hit on crichton doesnt get sent, but rapana, whitehead get sent
3. graham annesley admits again that refs are wrong
the game is self destructing

Hitler set the standard for making crazy decisions whilst sitting in the Bunker.
Then along comes Ashley Klien to try and challenge that standard.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Finucane's attempted tackle. It looked an accident to me and was a head clash. You see head clashes every game.Crusader wrote:just wanna say

I don't think Tigers challenging a very, very bad decision in a court of law is a good thing. It was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen but going to court over it is not good for anyone.
Annesley should be sacked.
I think the game is in a decent spot but a referee shake up is long overdue.

Re: 2022 Rd 20 V Titans: Teams and Previews
responding to an earlier comment re CNK. I watched him play on the weekend, and I have to admit I was very happy he wasn't playing first grade. He did not play well - certainly not up to his usual standards defensively. And in attack, by heaven does he die with the ball a lot. I really do wish him the best of luck, but going forward he is not the fullback we need.

Canberra Raiders' Jamal Fogarty plays down Gold Coast Titans homecoming
Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty is playing down his Queensland homecoming this Saturday.
"It's obviously going to be good to go back home and see heaps of family," Fogarty said. "But we just need to focus on ourselves. What we've seen in the last two weeks is when we focus on ourselves, we play our best footy, and when we worry about the opposition and the outcome, we're pretty terrible."

Unfortunately a lot of tackles that result in head injuries aren't intentional. That attempted tackle was poor technique and as loose as you'll ever see. You can't allow players to lead with their headgergreg wrote:There was absolutely nothing wrong with Finucane's attempted tackle. It looked an accident to me and was a head clash. They just need to be consistent with how penalties are applied.
And I'm the last person to stand up for Penrith players.

Finucane didn’t “lead with his head” at all. It’s not like Richard Vilisanti recklessly using his head like a battering ram to head butt Fittler in the 2002 GF.
Finucane just ran in hard to put on a big hit, completely missed him with his arms, accidentally clashed heads.
If he doesn’t get acquitted at the judiciary it will be the biggest farce.

Ok, maybe he didn't lead with the head like Viliasanti, but he was entirely upright when he made contact. There is no surprise that their heads clashed given the style of tackle.Finchy wrote:Finucane didn’t “lead with his head” at all. Finucane obviously tried to put a big hit on. It was a careless attempt which resulted in a serious head injury to the other player. Not sure how that is any different to carelessly hitting a player in the head with your shoulder.
