Actually go back to 2019 and this place was pretty awesome. The vibe in Sydney for that GF was pretty cool. The Raiders being second last for captains challenges is one of those moments that where you feel proud because your gut feeling is absolutely 100% spot on.

Raiders gearing up for must-win Warriors clash
If Canberra are serious about their top-eight push this NRL season, losing isn’t an option when they host the NZ Warriors on Saturday afternoon. But Raiders coach Ricky Stuart said he hadn’t allowed his side to get complacent, ensuring they re-focused on the Warriors the day following the 20-16 Storm win.
“It’s wonderful to win that game in Melbourne … coming back now playing at home, we want to make our fans proud as well and we want to come back and continue that type of performance,” he said.

Canberra Raiders warned of dangerous Warriors with 'nothing to lose'
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart is surprised that Stacey Jones demoted star player Reece Walsh to the bench for the tomorrow’s clash with the Green Machine.
"I was [surprised]," Stuart said. "Stacey Jones is a very experienced coach. Stacey was a wonderful player, and I'm sure there's a reason for it."

You could have a great percentage but only because you dared to call so few, you actually left 6 other opportunities on the table.
Sometimes also, captains challenge as a tactic to buy some time to rest and reset etc.
Good to see it's not just the big teams having their challenges supported though too :/
There is a startling and unexplainable aggregate of all the teams some fans seem to think fall in the NRL's "don't care" pile all at one end of the pile, almost perfectly arranged in order of pineappling
Maybe the Tiges a bit too high.

Quite surprising the Sharks have only challenged 7 calls in 17 games. Warriors with only 2 from 12 is pretty awful.
From a Raiders perspective I know we've put in far too many challenges that we're never going to win. Need to be a bit more selective.

Why can’t he do a few weeks in Reggie’s just to get some form?

Its not even that we need to be more selective, we have to understand the power this actually hasNorthern Raider wrote: ↑July 22, 2022, 5:09 pm Quite surprising the Sharks have only challenged 7 calls in 17 games. Warriors with only 2 from 12 is pretty awful.

the challenge might have actually won us a **** game last week because we didnt use it frivolously on a meaningless challenge in the 5th minute
We held it, used it on a key play that could have helped ice the game, retained it because it was a fair and good challenge and then had it available to us to use on a vital call. The players and coach have to surely look at this and understand the value it can hold if used correctly

As long as Rapana is generally hooked from making challenges our percentage will improve.

Maybe take the challenge priviledges away from Elliot?
Re: 2022 Rd 19 V Warriors: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
I think measuring challenges the way it is above may serve as a small indicator.
There are some challenges that are done towards the end of the game purely to slow down play with no hope of succeeding.

I think he starting position needs to be seriously looked at.
Boarder picture... we need a new captain. Someone whose selection in the squad week in week out isnt debatable.
