Canberra Raiders recruit Chevy Stewart named in Australian Schoolboys team

Fullback Chevy Stewart, a new junior recruit for the Canberra Raiders in 2023, has been named in the 2022 Australian Schoolboys team, at the conclusion of the ASSRL Championships today at Redcliffe.

Hard for them not to, if you look at the Langer trophy(main schoolboys comp in SE QLD) all of the 8 schools have a number on boys who move to Australia to push for an NRL contract. You are bound to get a few in the QLD team and hence some will make the Aus schoolboys.

If you are talking about Keano Kini then there is no way they could leave him out. The kid is an absolute talent.

The story suggests the Raiders are interested in hooker Tallyn Da Silva, currently affiliated to the Tigers. It they can’t get him they’d do well go look at Queensland hooker Gabriel Satrick, a free agent.

Interesting to see Tom Learoyd Lahrs’ son Kaiden Lahrs, from Kirwan, is signed by the Broncos.
