CNK looks like he's forgotten how to play footy, the bloke looks like his brain is going to explode from just figuring out how to move into dummy half and pass a ball.

I dunno, those stats paint a good picture for Fogarty being the best out of the three, surely?yurithe1 wrote: ↑July 4, 2022, 3:49 pm Being in a statistical frame of mind, I checked our halves options.
Out of five games, Fogarty has had three try assists and one offload out of five appearances. Five forced drop outs.
Frawley has only one forced drop out, but he did score that cracker of a try. So, at least he asks questions of the defence.
Schneider has scored a try and can kick goals. Three try assists and two line-break assists. Two forced dropouts, although he doesn't have a huge boot, but that is supposedly what Wighton provides. The downside I thought would be his defence, but his tackle efficiency is about the same as Frawley's. Considering how pedestrian our attack has been, I've changed my mind and would take a chance on him again rather than Frawley or Fogs.

Fogarty is certainly no Cleary but I think the Fog hate on the GH is overblown. The Nickman wrote: ↑July 4, 2022, 4:24 pmI dunno, those stats paint a good picture for Fogarty being the best out of the three, surely?yurithe1 wrote: ↑July 4, 2022, 3:49 pm Being in a statistical frame of mind, I checked our halves options.

I can point to about half a dozen players I think are performing worse than him at present, and most of them are of a relatively higher profile than him.

Exactly! He's not even the worst half in our current starting lineup!Mickey_Raider wrote: ↑July 4, 2022, 5:07 pmFogarty is certainly no Cleary but I think the Fog hate on the GH is overblown.

While I don't disagree, I hope you came to that conclusion on more than the 3 minutes he played yesterday.

I really hope bad luck doesn't come into play and contentious refereeing decisions.

Yep, pretty much what I'd go with. I'd also consider having Kris on the bench for Sutton and starting CNK in the centres.Dusty wrote:1. Savage

None of which will happen, but moving Wighton into the forwards and dropping Whitehead would be a huge step forward.

That was almost the worst possible round for us as far as making the 8.
1. Xavier Savage
2. Nick Cotric
3. Sebastian Kris
4. Matthew Timoko
5. Jordan Rapana
6. Jack Wighton
7. Jamal Fogarty
17. Corey Horsburgh
9. Zac Woolford
10. Joseph Tapine (c)
11. Hudson Young
12. Corey Harawira-Naera
13. Ryan Sutton
8. Josh Papali'i
14. Harry Rushton
15. Trey Mooney
16. Adam Elliot
Rushton to interchange with CHN. Elliot can handle giving Woolford a minor spell during the match.

He doesn't want to be in Australia anymore so his form drops and he just didn't care/
Like I said before I am so sick and tired of players breaking contracts.
We lose Elliot and CNK with no new signings in sight either.

I bet Stuart will put CNK on the bench for our next game.
Re: 2022 Rd 18 V Storm: Teams and Previews
Corey Harawira-Naera needs to play. Surely he would be looking to leave the Raiders with the amount of game time he is getting.
Re: 2022 Rd 18 V Storm: Teams and Previews
Well we just resigned him for 3 years so if he leaves, we'll be paying freight for years to come.
We actually can't afford that, along with carrying Croker and Whitehead as non contributing top tier contracts. (and no, Whitey is not contributing anymore).

That really does look solid… Jack not as electric as x but does defend well n can pop up on both sides of the ruck when attack n can still kick in general play from fullback

need to channel 2012 rd18, rock bottom vs tigers a few weeks before into a 40pt thrashing of the storm in melb

Fair enough. Didn't realise he is with us for 3 years.
He is much better than Whitehead. Problem is Whitehead our captain.

I wasn't actually disagreeing with you. I am as confused about our use of him as anyone, given the contract situation.benda wrote: ↑July 7, 2022, 5:51 pmFair enough. Didn't realise he is with us for 3 years.

Re: 2022 Rd 18 V Storm: Teams and Previews
There is no point in worrying about this game.
It has none of the hallmarks of a Raiders win.
We are comfortably beaten here.
We go 1/2 against Titans and Warriors with one of those games being an infuriating loss where we throw it away.
We get flogged against the Panthers.
We are then in a position where we need to go 4/4 to make the finals.
We probably manage to scrape a win against Dragons before the Knights or Manly put us out of our misery. Probably the latter but I remember the Knights ending our finals holes last year too so it might be them.
Then we have a stirring last round win against the Tigers to delude people into thinking things are fine, and Ricky gets rewarded for our 11th place finish with a fat contract extension.
Book all of this in.

I just think we'll completely fall apart now and come second last.
The whole thing is held together by sticky tape.

I know the powers that be don’t give a hoot about professionalism or even optics, but can you imagine if our results trend over 4 seasons goes:The Nickman wrote: ↑July 8, 2022, 9:25 am I just think we'll completely fall apart now and come second last.

2nd
4th
10th
11th>16th
That is a blatant year on year regression. Not even stagnating, but actually going backwards.
And the dude in charge of that regression gets rewarded with a lucrative contract extension.
This club is boned.
