Played 20 then the final 6?

He got replaced at about the 15 minute mark and then came back for the final five minutes.

Slater suggested that the plan was to have Papalii to put in everything in the opening stages, and have Carrigan play long minutes. But playing Papa 20 minutes is a slight on him in my view. Should have been brought back a lot earlier as the Queensland forwards were exhausted in the final stages.

The only people who performed worse than both dire teams that day were The Bunker. What a ridiculous game of ineptness that was, with Matt Lodge the only real winner on the day.

Has the full video ref bunker squad from this game been back in NRL or are they still banished?

Broncos Origin duo in doubt for crucial Raiders clash

Brisbane Broncos duo Kotoni Staggs and Payne Haas are both in doubt for Saturday's Round 14 clash with the Canberra Raiders after playing for the NSW Blues on Wednesday evening. Staggs was always going to be a question coming out of a game he failed to finish.

If the body goes past horizontal at anytime regardless if he does land on his back it’s still a penalty.

And his head does hit the ground too, it wasn't head first but it still would have tickled. I thought the penalty and on report was enough.

However then the "match review committee" which I'm now assuming it code for "getting absolutely **** faced and then throwing darts at a big board of possible punishments" somehow came up with "Stephen Crichton (NSW) Grade 1 Dangerous Throw Guilty, early plea 7% of match fee"... Doesn't even do a week, but Wighton got two for a pretty similar tackle that at least had another players involvement...

Two weeks:

I have 2 tickets available for the game on Saturday. I've got Covid so cannot go now. Anybody wants them let me know.

P.S. Broncos fans need not apply. I'd rather leave 2 vacant seats.

Cobbo, Haas and Carrigan to back up against Raiders

Selwyn Cobbo, Payne Haas and Patrick Carrigan are all confirmed to play against the Raiders on Saturday. Kotoni Staggs, however, has not recovered in time from a shoulder cork sustained in Origin and will be replaced by Brenko Lee. Adam Reynolds is also a confirmed starter.

Given what Simonsson produced a couple weeks ago and that sort of performance being a recurring theme I'm oddly more worried by Brenko than Staggs 🤣🤣🤣

Matt Timoko ready to excel alongside young Canberra Raiders backline

Matt Timoko believes that the Raiders inexperienced backline will be up for the challenge this Saturday night, with the centre confident that his teammates are prepared for their contest against the Broncos.

“Rapa is a big loss because he is such an integral part of the team. He is one of the veterans who has been around for years now,” he said. “Us young boys are looking forward to stepping up, I know Schills is ready to step up and I’m looking to step up in his place. I think we will be good this week.”

Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart praises Jack Wighton's State of Origin effort

Jack Wighton returned to the Raiders "pretty sore" after Origin I on Wednesday night, but is likely to back up for the Green Machine's big clash against the Brisbane Broncos at Lang Park on Saturday night.

"There was some doubt and speculation about whether he should be picked in the starting 13.Jack was the best player for NSW on [Wednesday] and deserves every little bit of credit that he gets. He has to embrace the negativity of last week and the best way to embrace it is by doing what he did on the field," Ricky Stuart said.

Canberra Raiders prop Joe Tapine leads the NRL for post-contact metres with 897, as Payne Haas (826m) and Tapine prepare to go head-to-head at Lang Park on Saturday night.

"They're a big, strong, athletic team and they've been playing good football and they deserve to be where they are," Ricky Stuart said. "Kevvie's done a really good job with them."
