Re: 2022 Rd 12 V Eels: Teams and Previews
Did anyone catch in the commentary that Jake Duke said he spoke to Fogarty who said he is a chance to come back as soon as next weekend.
Re: 2022 Rd 12 V Eels: Teams and Previews
I think given the team performance, it'll be hard to make any changes to that 17... but Fog in at halfback would be a very nice addition.
Schneider again aquitted himself well defensively but in attack he's pretty much a zero. Getting Fog would really help us in the red zone imo

Yeah I caught that
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

CNK hammy so you would think Savage to fullback, CHN to bench

Fog for Schneider please. CHN to the bench. Sutton back for Rushton as well as Parra have big forward pack and we need size. It won't be easy as Parra are heaps better than Souths, Matterson, Papalii, Gutherson playing great but we can beat them. Kick to Simonsson all the time.

The Canberra Times has reported the same a couple of times. He's aiming for Rd 12, no confirmation yet on whether it is possible. Ricky Stuart says he has to tick some boxes first.

I mean he's not a superstar, but na we gotta get him straight in. He's a professional athelete, he's a half, so the cardio aspect shouldnt be a huge factor. It's not like he's a running forward. Get him in immediately and start reestablishing the cohension.
the team looked REAL good with him in the #7 in pre season.
Re: 2022 Rd 12 V Eels: Teams and Previews
Here's hoping Fogarty is well enough to be in the selection frame for next week. Frawley and gastro sounds nasty and I hope it doesn't 'run' through the side.

I don't think we will see too much change from a winning team but I'd like to see Harawira-Nawra get another crack in the second row at some stage. That's where he's most effective imo.

Since we won I wouldn’t rush back Fogarty if he isn’t 100%, same with Croker. CNK’s hammy doesn’t seem to be bad, from the post-game press conference I think that our side will look like this.
1. Rapana
2. Cotric
3. Timoko
4. Kris
5. Savage
6. Wighton
7. Schneider/Frawley
8. Papalii
9. Woolford
10. Tapine
11. Young
12. Whitehead
13. Ellliot
14. Starling
15. Sutton*
16. Schiller
17. Horsburgh
1. Rapana
2. Cotric
3. Timoko
4. Kris
5. Savage

10. Tapine
11. Young
12. Whitehead
13. Ellliot

Re: 2022 Rd 12 V Eels: Teams and Previews
Fogarty, CHN, Schiller/Valemei in
Schneider, Elliott, CNK(injured?) out
Concerned that Savage on the wing would be marking Sivo - keep Savage on the bench and play a more robust winger if CNK is out.
Moses clever kicking means our back 3 need to be spot on.

Rapana and Cotric need to stay on the wing.
I'd be tempted to have Croker back in at centre and Kris on the bench for his utility value. Can play wing, centre of in the forwards if needed.
Alternatively, Kris stays where he is and CNK on the beach as utility.
Valemei to NSW Cup please.

I'd have Savage at FB if CNK is out. Raps is as likely as Savage to make an error back there these days and he's killing it on the wing.President Clinton wrote: ↑May 23, 2022, 9:12 am Rapana and Cotric need to stay on the wing.

Our wingers are going well now and Parra have Sivo lined up on the left.
Kris did great at centre. He's played alongside Cotric since they were 14 year olds so it's a good combo to tap into with understanding in defence and attack. I'd leave him there.
If we need a back on the bench then Schiller, who has some versatility or Croker and we can shift Kris out elsewhere in back 5 in case of emergency.
If the Fog is ready, bring him in. I don't think he'd be far behind the pace compared to a slightly cooked Schneider and what Frawley brings most weeks anyway. Whitehead will have to bodyguard him to some extent if needed.

I teach PE and I accidentally put them both on the same Oztag team in a lesson once when I was new to the school. Kids thought it was a bit unfair.

Re: 2022 Rd 12 V Eels: Teams and Previews
We already have 2 'robust' 100kg wingers who are going well. I'd hate to see Ricky overcomplicate this by displacing multiple players out of position from a winning side in order to replace CNK who, on form, is very, very replaceable. When the first choice fullback is injured I'd like to see the 2nd choice fullback slot in - simple.
Valemei never deserved the automatic selection he was receiving up until his injury and it would be ridiculous to see him waltz back into a team that's won 3 straight in his absence. Croker isn't a bench option. He starts or he doesn't play imo.
1. Savage
2. Cotric
3. Kris
4. Timoko
5. Rapana
6. Wighton
7. Fogarty
I think Sutton's front on stopping power in defence will be needed against Parra so he needs to come back in. CHN also needs to come back because he's undoubtedly in our best 17 (and 13).
If he plays, Sivo should have a target on his head given how long he's been out. Grubbers behind and bombs on top of him all day.

Schneider has been first rate in defence, but his attack is basically non-existent.
I'm very excited to see what the side that's shown up for the last fortnight can do with the bloke who was recruited specifically to steer them around can manage.

Honestly, try to replicate the team that played Souths as closely as possible, as that was one of our best performances of the year...
- if CNK is out, play Savage at fullback
- if Fog is back, give him a run and Schneider a rest
Apart from that, don’t change a thing!

Cotric FB when they attack from the left. Rapana when from the right. On centre field plays Ricky sneaks on from the sideline as a trainer and directs the defence while Savage attacks. Croker to FB at all other times. The old Starling 3 cup trick as FB, they'll never know what hit 'em.radicalraider wrote: ↑May 23, 2022, 1:41 pm If cnk out.. cotric fb savage wing for 1st half than swap 2nd half

If Fogarty is ready I would have him at 7, Savage at one and Schneider on the bench. Gives us cover for the halves but also I am sure he could fill in as a centre should we lose a back or even come on as a 13 late in the half.
