Late high shot and the guy gets stretchered off. Even without the crackdown that would have been marched.

The ref really has no option but to send him off given the precedent with Papalii yesterday.

**** is going on? It’s like that golf thing someone mentioned the other day.
The NRL set an edict and the players are like “don’t hit high or commit foul play, don’t hit high or commit foul play...”
Next minute bam high tackle or foul play.

McGuire probably should have been binned a second time for that awful flop on the legs. It's just as bad as Wightons.

Absolutely he should have
Re: 2021 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
I was surprised he wasnt binned but there are some key differences in his and Wighton’s
One being the tackle was remotely completed, Addo Carr still had forward momentum
it was all but completed in jacks case, the player was still and wrapped up
McGuire actually hit him at the hip and slid down, where as Jack went straight into the knee

They were different types of offences though. The danger of Maguire was the dropping of his weight. Think they call it a hip drop or something.

As said, I was surprised he wasn’t binned myself
Re: 2021 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
Hip drop from Sims. No action. That was a classic case of a hip drop.

Another exciting blow out... but this next one should be close!

Re: 2021 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
So GE you like artificially keeping games close?
Re: 2021 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
Its also utterly absurd to blame the blow outs on this... the blow outs have been happening all year long, the competition is extremely uneven right now. With or without this crack down, the Storm, Panthers, Souths, Roosters and Parra are basically dropping hammers on everyone
Re: 2021 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
Even when a front rower gets the ball and passes up a 3 on 0 over lap outside the panthers still manage to score
Re: 2021 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
For those who have not been following what I've been saying... I believe the blowouts have increased since the introduction of the new rules to speed the ruck and the pace of the game more generally, as the balance has shifted in rewarding momentum and points. Momentum comes on top of momentum, and defences aren't rewarded. But they also reflect the ineffectiveness of the NRL in promoting an even competition through an effective salary cap - and other policies that deliberately reward some clubs over others. They've been telling us for years that the salary cap is effective in promoting an even competition - despite evidence to the contrary.
This weekend's "new interpretations", the ridiculous sin binnings etc... they're just accentuating it further.

Ese'Ese sent off. And the Panthers are already leading 24-0. It could be 70-0 by the end.
Re: 2021 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
Panthers 30-0 at half time. Exciting isn't it!
Re: 2021 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
TBF I think the officials have been pretty consistent for a change. I hope it continues.

What’s the market on the Titans going down to 11 players at some stage?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

I suspect we’ll run out of fit players anyway.

That'll do me. That's a downright ridiculous decision from the bunker. I hate this "taking away tries". Honestly, downright ridiculous.

I’m going alright. Not really enjoying the game this year. How are you doing?

I'm not really enjoying the game either mate. Haven't watched a full game all year. It's weird

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Re: 2021 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
Not too bad. I'm not really enjoying it much either. Peters V'landys tells us that we should be enjoying 50-0, but I don't really.

Speak for yourself. I love it when the score is:
[Insert team] 50 def Broncos 0
