Semi ahead of Simmonson any day of the week. He couldn't break the skin on a custard tart, let alone a tackle. Put the same 17 back on the field, sticky will sort it out!

You're right PJ, you're right.-PJ- wrote: ↑April 25, 2021, 3:20 pmI understand we are playing like dirt..I get that..don’t burn me here.greeneyed wrote: ↑April 25, 2021, 12:01 pm Watching The Sunday Footy Show... Brad Fittler reading the rule on off side... saying that the Cowboys were definitely off side for their final try.
The relevant interpretation is: "A player is offside if he has one foot (either on or off the ground) in front of a teammate who ‘last touches, is touched, held or kicked the ball’. Section 14 (1)
https://www.nrl.com/siteassets/operatio ... s_2020.pdf
(I might be wrong, but mentions Annesley in quoting the rule interpretation, seemed to suggest that Annesley supplied it to him... Fittler seemed to be reading off a text.)
I'm not blowing up over the bunker not intervening... it is a tough call... but I can see why Fittler would say he's offside. His left foot does look to be in front. I'm now in two minds...
It'll be hard to lose a second game in the opening seven, if Annesley tells us tomorrow it should have been disallowed.
In any case, the Raiders were the masters of their own destinies yesterday. No injury excuse this week. They gave up an 18 point lead.
We lost v the Warriors from a forward pass..
We lost v the Cows from a offside play..
There’s 4pts we dont have.
We move on...

We're bad but so far not Broncos bad.Roger Kenworthy wrote:Sticking with the experience isn't going so great for us.gergreg wrote: ↑April 25, 2021, 1:11 pmI'm guessing from Ricky's perspective he sees the depth we have in the forward pack and feels he can drop some players. We don't have that same luxury in the outside backs. We drop Croker, and TBF Scott should be dropped as well, but then you're bringing in two very young players. That strategy is going really bad for the **** Broncos.GreenMachine wrote:I mentioned this in the Croker thread, but how do you think the playing group feel about the Lui, Papalli, Solioa and Tapine droppings against the backdrop of Croker’s performances?
Our shortfalls around fitness and lacklustre outside backs aside, you can’t drive high standards when accountability is subjectively applied to certain players.
Some of these guys are just gassed due to poor interchange management...
All aside, we’re struggling under the 6 again rule this season.

Good comparison. Manly also look absolutely shot whenever they play without their fullback.Raiders666 wrote:Confidence is a funny thing In Rugby League... Just look at Manly 4 weeks ago

Also, something afgfhjfkfkfkt pointed out last week but we all laughed at him... the team was 3/3 with Lui and 0/3 (now 0/4) WITHOUT him.
It’s time to bring Dunamis back.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

'We're looking pretty average': Canberra Raiders five-eighth Jack Wighton's home truth
Jack Wighton says the Canberra Raiders still have what it takes to "blow any team off the park". The only problem for the star five eighth is right now "we're looking pretty average".
"The last three weeks has been a very similar story, its all about focusing on us now," Wighton said. "We've put ourselves in this position so we have to try and get ourselves out of it. If we play like we did in the first half [against the Cowboys], we'll blow any team off the park but at the moment we're looking pretty average.

Ironically we finish the round in the Top 8 after losing and embarrassing ourselves again
Captain obvious Wighton on the mark in that article.
Interesting stat I heard last night was the last time we lost 3 in a row....was 2019. Thing is I don’t remember us having pea hearts that year like this year. Time will tell whether we can turn this mess around.

I can't believe how much the first half is being talked up. The Cowboys were really poor - we'd have been doing well to lead by less than 12 at the break.greeneyed wrote: ↑April 25, 2021, 8:25 pm 'We're looking pretty average': Canberra Raiders five-eighth Jack Wighton's home truth

big ask, but i want us to start playing off our halfback instead of from hooker. at least for the first 20 mins of the game. the panthers do it and it takes so much out of oppositions.
ricky really needs to look at how he uses his bench. leaving players on till they are tired is backward af. make your first prop changes from the 15 min mark.

Absolutely regarding playing off our halfback. When George was playing on the ruck last year we went to another level. Parking him on the right while waiting for the hooker to involve him does nothing for our team.simo wrote: ↑April 26, 2021, 8:30 am 1 aekins
