Ok the Jags on the clock. Got their forever QB in the top pick and instinct says to give him some offensive weapons or shore up protection. They need a TE and dipped out in FA but thye can address that with later picks. Same with OL. Their defense has some gaps on the line and at safety. Coin flip between the two. DT Christian Barmore is the no1 prospect in his position and rarely does the top DT slip so far. He's available at 25 but may not be when the next pick at 33 so that's where I'm heading.

Barrimore pick for the Jags is interesting. Pending on the day of week i go from thinking he's a good late 1st who i think has a chance to be a 3 down disrupter but at the very least is a 2 down dominant force, or on another day of the week i think there is little to no chance he can be disruptive in the passing game, so he's only a 2 down player and that's a day 2 pick not first round
Today i feel good about it.

I think Pat Freiermuth is my favourite pick for the jags at that spot but i think there is a good chance they'd be able to get him early day 2.
Samuel Cosmi, Liam Eichenberg, Trevon Moehrig and just saying **** it, and getting Marshall Jnr are other options i would consider there for the Jags

Jags at 25 is going to be an interesting pick on draft day considering have have 1st pick in day 2. TE is their most obvious but there's nobody worth a 1st round pick. Freiermuth a 2nd/3rd round prospect. No need to reach for him when you can get him at no33. Moehrig (Safety) is another option. Again could be there at 33. I actually reckon one of the high rated O-Linesman will fall and that's who they will grab here.

Pick 33 is effectively an extra 1st rounder as there's always plenty of 1st round talent still on the board. However you can't really bank on any particular player still being there. It's a case of taking the opportunity. They've got plenty of time to discuss options. :)

Sam Darnold traded to the Panthers for a slew of future day 2 and 3 picks
Good move for all concerned

Jets confirm the worst held secret in the NFL, that Zach Wilson is going to be the pick @ 2.
The panthers didnt pay so much that they cant go back into QB market next year, be it for Watson/Wilson or a rookie high in the draft.
And i like Darnold's skill set with Joe Brady

Not sure this will work for the Panthers but given the options, that 3 Qb's will be gone before the 4th pick, and that the Falcons were unlikely to trade them the 4th pick for a QB anyways so at best they're getting the 5th drafted guy, and maybe not even that... this was a good move for them.

That 4th pick still feels like it's gonna move... Broncos? Patriots? WFT getting HYPER aggressive? Those would be my picks

Shakes up the draft again quite considerably. As the Panthers are now OUT of the QB market and i think now the lowest Penei Sewell will fall is to 8.

3 way win this trade. Panthers get a decent QB. Jets get decent compensation for a guy they were about to replace anyway. Darnold gets out of an organisation that wasn't doing him any favours.

Interesting move as Panthers will now have to sit tight and see who falls to them given up too much draft collateral to make a move up this year. Definitely takes them out of the QB market in the immediate term. They have to see what Darnold can offer them before any other moves.

If the Mac Jones smoke is legit, and the Niners are taking him at 3, i have to think the Broncos will be super into Trey Lance

Also Mac Jones over threw a ton of guys at his pro day and all they did was smash cut to BB and Kyle Shanahan looking uneasy about it all... i mean it's a pro day, no one actually cares about that **** but my god it was funny

Lucy hasn't paid his internet bill again by the look of it. Somebody going to pick for him?

Browns on the clock. So many of their potential picks are already off the board in our mock. Reckon LB Jamin Davis would be a good fit. Raw but talented athlete. Nice long term play for them.

The browns could go in any direction here. Options i considered were Eric Stokes, CB out of Georgia and Rashod Bateman, because i think the OBJ experiment might be coming to an end there.
But to me their biggest need is an edge rusher to play opposite Garrett and provide the defence with another play maker. I like what they've done in FA with the back end of the D, but they really havent replaced Olivier Vernon. We've got Azeez Ojulari and Jayson Oweh as my top edge players. And how you rank them will depend on what you value. Production or traits?
It's production for me, and also i think Ojulari projects best as a 4-3 DE, where i think Oweh is better suited to being a stand up LB in a 3-4. So Azeez is a better scheme fit

Browns select Azeez Ojulari, DE, Georgia

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson (All)
2. New York Jets - Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (All)
3. San Francisco 49ers - Justin Fields, QB, OSU (Matt)
4. Atlanta Falcons - Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida (Boney)
5. Cincinatti Bengals - Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon (Botman)
6. Miami Dolphins - Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Clemson (NR)
7. Detroit Lions - Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama (Matt)
8. Carolina Panthers - Trey Lance, QB, NDS (Boney)
9. Denver Broncos - Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State (Botman)
10. Dallas Cowboys - Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama (NR)
11. New York Giants - Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan (Lucy)
12. Philadelphia Eagles - Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina (Matt)
13. Los Angeles Chargers - Rashawn Slater, OL, Northwestern (Boney)
14. Minnesota Vikings - Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, USC (Botman)
15. New England Patriots - Mac Jones, QB, Alabama (NR)
16. Arizona Cardinals - Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech (Lucy)
17. LA Raiders - Gregory Rousseau, Edge, Miami (Matt)
18. Miami Dolphins - Zaven Collins, Edge, Tulsa (Boney)

20. Chicago Bears - Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State (NR)
21. Indianapolis Colts - Davonta Smith, WR, Alabama (Botcy)
22. Tennessee Titans - Jeremiah Owusu-Koranoah, LB, Notre Dame (Matt)
23. New York Jets - Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern (Boney)
24. Pittsburgh Steelers - Jaelan Phillips, Edge, Miami (Botman)
25. Jacksonville Jaguars - Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama (NR)
26. Cleveland Browns - Azeez Ojulari, DE, Georgia (Botcy)

@Matt on the clock at #27 with the Baltimore Ravens. And this is to me a perfect board for the Ravens

Ravens are a BPA type team, and aren't afraid to pick players from small schools. They need weapons for Lamar, but like the Steelers, they are a franchise built on tough D.

Their Div rivals both took edge players they would have loved.

The experts are leaning to Terence Marshall Jr, WR, LSU. Good pick, and received 3 votes from them.

However, I'm intrigued by Trevor Moehrig, S, TCU and Joe Tyron, Edge, Washington. Ive learnt a little more about Tyron today, as he was covered by the Cowboys draft show, but sounds like he is a Day 2 guy.

IMO, Ravens have always had good players at Safety, Reid of course, and in recent times Weedle.

So, with the 27th pick in the 2021 GHNFL Draft, Ravens select, Trevor Moehrig, S, TCU

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson (All)
2. New York Jets - Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (All)
3. San Francisco 49ers - Justin Fields, QB, OSU (Matt)
4. Atlanta Falcons - Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida (Boney)
5. Cincinatti Bengals - Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon (Botman)
6. Miami Dolphins - Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Clemson (NR)
7. Detroit Lions - Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama (Matt)
8. Carolina Panthers - Trey Lance, QB, NDS (Boney)
9. Denver Broncos - Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State (Botman)
10. Dallas Cowboys - Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama (NR)
11. New York Giants - Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan (Lucy)
12. Philadelphia Eagles - Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina (Matt)
13. Los Angeles Chargers - Rashawn Slater, OL, Northwestern (Boney)
14. Minnesota Vikings - Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, USC (Botman)
15. New England Patriots - Mac Jones, QB, Alabama (NR)
16. Arizona Cardinals - Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech (Lucy)
17. LA Raiders - Gregory Rousseau, Edge, Miami (Matt)
18. Miami Dolphins - Zaven Collins, Edge, Tulsa (Boney)
19. Washington Football Team - Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech (Botman)
20. Chicago Bears - Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State (NR)
21. Indianapolis Colts - Davonta Smith, WR, Alabama (Botcy)
22. Tennessee Titans - Jeremiah Owusu-Koranoah, LB, Notre Dame (Matt)
23. New York Jets - Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern (Boney)
24. Pittsburgh Steelers - Jaelan Phillips, Edge, Miami (Botman)
25. Jacksonville Jaguars - Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama (NR)
26. Cleveland Browns - Azeez Ojulari, DE, Georgia (Botcy)
27. Baltimore Ravens - Trevor Moehrig, S, TCU (Matt)

@Boney is on the extended clock with the Saints at 28.

WOOOW... That certainly fits, and i love the player. But if that's the pick and they pass on Bateman, that'd be a giant shock. Not sure it's wrong pick though.
Moehrig is a top 20 player for me. I think he's awesome and that's awesome value.

Moehrig is a genuine 1st rounder and we're getting near the end of it. Have to agree though, Bateman was a better fit for Ravens.

Alritey, Saints need a wide receiver to go with Michael Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith. I like Terrace Marshall Jr, but with Rashod Bateman on the board, I’m going to go with him.

Yep, i like that pick, think Michael Thomas is nearing his end in NO, seems like some issues going on behind the scenes with him and i reckon they'll not mind taking Bateman and shipping him out.
And the guy you mentioned is for me, an ideal fit next to Davonte Adams in GB... Last year Rodgers BEGGED them to get him a weapon, they drafted his replacement and a between the tackles RB with limited to no pass catching ability. How did he respond? MVP season.
Rodgers has earned the right for the Packers to reinvest in him and this era with a weapon. Terrance Marshall Jr goes to the packers to try and put them over the top and grab another Lombardi

Bills are really hard to predict here. They have quite a solid all round group of starters so no glaring need. You would need to go next level analysis of upcoming contracts situations and who is potential to move on via cut, trade or FA. I really couldn't be stuffed looking into it that deeply, particularly for the **** Bills.

Depth at corner is always good to have and there are a number of options available. Splitting hairs trying to predict their preference of the handful that are likely to go in the 2nd round if not here. Instead I'll look at RB where they have the opportunity to add a real game breaker and potentially elevate themselves beyond he Conference final and into the Superbowl. Travis Etienne is an absolute machine and his presence in the backfield coupled with the Bills passing game will create nightmares for opposing defensive coordinators. Najee Harris has the higher rating in most eyes and impressive stats to back it up. It's just part of me feels some of that is being beneficiary of the high powered Alabama offense unit. Either one will do the job but I'll go with Etienne.

Only 2 picks left and we've all had 6 plus 2 x Lucy and 2 x Botcy. How will we work this?

Lucy can chip in with 2 in a row of he shows up. Otherwise we could come to a consensus on who KC and Bucs take.

I had a look at the Buccs picks thinking I'd be doing it, but these are the guys mentioned by the experts, that have not yet been picked, for the Buccs:

Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri
Jayson Oweh, Edge, Penn State x2
Trey Smith, OL, Tennessee
DT Daviyon Nixon, Iowa
RB Javonte Williams, North Carolina
OL Jalen Mayfield, Michigan x2
WR Rondale Moore, Purdue
DL Levi Onwuzurike, Washington
ILB Jamin Davis, Kentucky
CB Asante Samuel Jr., Florida State

Low on needs, so maybe take the upside punt. Im tempted to bet on the athlete, and take Oweh

SPICY! Etienne to the bills. Hadnt really thought about RB for them but if they want to keep up in the arms race in the AFC with the Chiefs, getting a back like him would be pretty interesting. The bills are incredibly hard to project, i think all things going to plan, they'd probably go with an edge option. I've seen mocks that end with Ojulari being available which i think is a slam dunk but i dont know that they'd swing the fence on Owah. Feels like they will want someone they know can contribute to a SB run this year

So some options i like for the Chiefs and Bucs:

Chiefs: This feels like OL. They have addressed it to some level with Joe Tunney and Kyle Long, and whilst those guys can play tackle, i think ideally you have Tunney in at LG and Long at RT, which still leaves a fairly sizable hole at LT. Samuel Cosmi or Liam Eichenberg are very tempting here. They could look at Jamin Davis or Nick Bolton at LB. It's Andy Reid, they've lost Sammy Watkins and they're crazy, so someone like Elijah Moore/Kadarius Tony maybe and just say **** Defence, try and keep up. Think it's either the LB's or Tackles myself.

Bucs: This is not going to be a team picking projects. They've run it back completely and they want an impact player. To me this is Najee Harris on this board. Sure Playoff Lenny was great and Rojo has his moments but neither of those guys are people you could count on. Harris could come in and be the day 1 feature back and help them. Other options are Moore/Tony if Antonio Brown doesnt come back. Maybe Landon Dickerson, he's an injury risk but if he's healthy, and maybe they only care if they can get one healthy year out of him, he's a top 15 talent in the draft and IMO a day 1 pro bowler IF he stays healthy

I think if i were making the picks, id go Eichenberg for the Chiefs and Harris for the Bucs

Feels like they will want someone they know can contribute to a SB run this year
I went through a lot of mocks and most of the players they had going to the Bills were off the board in our draft. While I do think CB is a logical pick the next group available are very mix n match in regards to where they will go. That got me thinking a bit laterally. Their running game was very good without having a standout back. Singletary and Moss both with decent YPC at around 4.3 along with Allen at 4.1 and a 4.2 overall team average. Notable though their numbers fell away as they got deeper into the playoffs. An upgrade in that position could be a huge help in taking them that next step up.

Chiefs: Endearing memory of their OL getting absolutely decimated in the SB. Little doubt they will address that in this draft. Will they do it with their round 1 pick? Not so sure about that. More likely they will use their day 2 picks on those areas. Plenty of meat and potatoes O-linesmen available. They will be able to grab 2-3 solid prospect throughout the draft. Watkins departure leaves an immediate gap at WR. Lots of quality on the board with Moore, Marshall, Wallace, Toney etc. None of those likely to be their for their next pick at 63 to best jump in now. Of those I think Elijah Moore is the safest bet.

Bucs: Their window is now. Given there's no QB worth taking here as Brady's future replacement it will be about strengthening their depth chart. This screams BPA. Najee Harris and Jayson Oweh obvious ones there. Both could contribute immediately. Oweh is one of those typical players that impresses everybody as an athlete and looks every bit a superstar. Problem is he had 0 sacks in 7 games last year. He did get 6.5 tackles for a loss which is the run stopping equivalent. If the Bucs brains trust fall in love with his potential then this pick is is given. If not then Najee Harris makes some sense with Fournette only on a 1 year deal. Jones is established as their no1 though and that puts Harris splitting carries with Fournette as a back up. The value is not there short term so I'll lean towards Oweh for this pick.

Im really not sure RE Cheifs, but OL looks a good call.
We know they love to score pts, so I can see WR.
But could you see them getting CB Asante Samuel Jr?

Thats the thing with these late picks. You're looking for gaps in what are effectively the best teams in the NFL. They can go in many different directions. Often the picks are more forward thinking e.g. finding replacements for guys who may not be there after the next year or two. Almost impossible for mockers to guess their thinking in that regard.

Im a big fan of Samuel Jr... though its in my head that i might be projecting too much of his Daddy in him. But they play incredibly similar... best in off zone coverage, eyes on the QB and making plays on the ball

Also makes me feel like an OLD NFL fan... i mostly still consider myself new to this sport but i've been watching long enough that i fondly remember the fathers of current draft prospects

Yes, we are seeing a lot of names resurface. Feels like only yesterday I was excited by the Dolphins drafting Partick Surtain.

There are a couple of guys in this draft in the same boat. And I'm sure I've been watching for less time than you

im gonna finish off the draft, because im a completionist
NR and i seemed to both think Elijah Moore to the Cheifs would be a fun and good pick and for the Bucs... whilst i was leaning RB as the pick for them, and NR was heading to Owah... whilst i think RB is more likely, im also aniti RB's in round 1, firmly on twitter analytics when it comes to that position

So any chance to further that cause. Also, those Owah testing numbers are not of this world. He's from from planet Krypton. Dudes of his size and shape arent suppose to move like that and i find it really hard to beleive NO ONE in the first round doesnt hold their nose about the production and bet on that insane athleticism

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson (All)
2. New York Jets - Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (All)
3. San Francisco 49ers - Justin Fields, QB, OSU (Matt)
4. Atlanta Falcons - Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida (Boney)
5. Cincinatti Bengals - Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon (Botman)
6. Miami Dolphins - Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Clemson (NR)
7. Detroit Lions - Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama (Matt)
8. Carolina Panthers - Trey Lance, QB, NDS (Boney)
9. Denver Broncos - Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State (Botman)
10. Dallas Cowboys - Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama (NR)
11. New York Giants - Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan (Lucy)
12. Philadelphia Eagles - Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina (Matt)
13. Los Angeles Chargers - Rashawn Slater, OL, Northwestern (Boney)
14. Minnesota Vikings - Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, USC (Botman)
15. New England Patriots - Mac Jones, QB, Alabama (NR)
16. Arizona Cardinals - Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech (Lucy)
17. LA Raiders - Gregory Rousseau, Edge, Miami (Matt)
18. Miami Dolphins - Zaven Collins, Edge, Tulsa (Boney)
19. Washington Football Team - Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech (Botman)
20. Chicago Bears - Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State (NR)
21. Indianapolis Colts - Davonta Smith, WR, Alabama (Botcy)
22. Tennessee Titans - Jeremiah Owusu-Koranoah, LB, Notre Dame (Matt)
23. New York Jets - Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern (Boney)
24. Pittsburgh Steelers - Jaelan Phillips, Edge, Miami (Botman)
25. Jacksonville Jaguars - Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama (NR)
26. Cleveland Browns - Azeez Ojulari, DE, Georgia (Botcy)
27. Baltimore Ravens - Trevor Moehrig, S, TCU (Matt)
28. New Orleans Saints - Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota (Boney)
29. Green Bay Packers - Terrence Marshall Jr, WR, LSU (Botman)
30. Buffalo Bills - Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson (NR)
31. Kansas City Chiefs - Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss (NRman)
32. Tampa Bay Bucanners - Jayson Oweh, DE, Penn State (NRman)

And thats it. The Round 1 mock in the books
TBH i think that's pretty damn good. Im not seeing anything there that is SUPER crazy... Mac Jones falling to 15 is probably the one that seems most crazy now but that's where i think he deserves to go. And i think the Mac Jones - Pats pairing is solid, may not be at #15 though

Well that's a wrap. At least until another massive trade happens to **** it all up like 49ers/Phins/Pheagles did. :P

Agree it's quite a reasonable mock. Mac Jones draft position is at odds with the latest rumours. I do think that's a lot of the usual pre-draft noise. I really can't see 49ers making such a big trade up when they did for a guy who's not on that many radars.

Yeah i've seen a few notable draft people link back to interviews Kyle Shanny has given about the QB position and its clear to me that he values things in the QB position that Mac Jones does not have
Im with you 100%... i dont think you give up draft capital they gave for a QB with Mac's limited skill set. I dont know what they're playing at with all this pre draft stuff with Mac if they're not picking him but i dont think ill beleive the pick is Mac until it's announced.
