Re: NFL Thread
The big loser from today’s trades is Carolina. I doubt Atlanta will trade their 4th overall pick to a divisional rival. Sending a day 2 pick to the Jets for Darnold may be their best move if someone else trades up to 4 (Broncos I’m looking at you).

Any team looking for help at QB could do a lot worse than trading for Darnold.

Re: NFL Thread
Sooo... do we finish the mock 1st round? Or tear it up and start fresh with this new info?
Re: NFL Thread
I could go either way. Mocking the first 20 picks seems like a reasonable place to finish, but I’m happy to continue if others want to. Otherwise we could do mock 2.0 with the updated draft order.

Re: NFL Thread
Reckon we have a re-do from Botman's pick at no3. Easy enough to repeat selections for those not impacted.

Let’s change the order up as well. Before it was NR, Lucy, Me, Pigman, Matt. Who wants first?

With the 3rd pick in the 2.O GHNFL Draft, the Dolphins gave traded their pick to the 49ers. The 49ers select Justin Fields, QB, OSU
Re: NFL Thread
Alrighty, assuming a no trade mock, I’ll stick with the 1.0 version and go Kyle Pitts to Atlanta at #4.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars - Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson (All)
2. New York Jets - Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (All)
3. San Francisco 49ers - Justin Fields, QB, OSU (Matt)
4. Atlanta Falcons - Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida (Boney)

Well, boney didn't want it, he suggested a different order, so figured I'd jump in while I was there coz I was about to drive home from the coast.Northern Raider wrote: ↑March 28, 2021, 10:21 am Haha. Piggles just got punted from a gimme pick. Nice work Matt.

Ol Botman is here to right the wrongs for 1.0.
The Bengals sprint to the podium and select the 20 year FREAK SHOW tackle out of Oregon, Penei Sewell. As a franchise they can not let Joe Burrow get hit the way he was last year.

God, im fascinated about which QB the Niners are going to take
Im not a big Mac Jones fan, but his best comp, and im far from the first to say it, is Matt Ryan, and Kyle Shanny almost and should have won a SB with Matt Ryan. And some well connected people seem to think Mac might be the pick... Which to me is WILD.
But Fields and Lance would be SOOO **** fun in that offence.
Imma spend the next month living on NFL draft twitter looking for any and all info about where the Niners are going with this.

I don't care what these well connected people say and even if it's a direct quote from John Lynch. They didn't trade up to 3 for Mac Jones.Botman wrote: ↑March 28, 2021, 7:55 pm God, im fascinated about which QB the Niners are going to take

I wasn't prepared for the Lions pick, but I've just had a look, and WR seems the consensus, even with a couple saying Micah Prasons. Unlike Lucy, im racing Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama to the stand at 7.

I like Waddle, i have some vague hopes and prayers that one of Pitts/Smith/Chase/Waddle will end up being available for Philly @ 12, which would be perfect
Waddle has incredible speed/power... think he'll be a star if he lands in a good spot. Detroit is... not a good spot

This mock works out nicely for the Panthers again, they’ll take QB 4 without having to trade up. Trey Lance come on down!

2. New York Jets - Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (All)
3. San Francisco 49ers - Justin Fields, QB, OSU (Matt)

6. Miami Dolphins - Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Clemson (NR)

8. Carolina Panthers - Trey Lance, QB, NDS (Boney)

Re: NFL Thread
Im toying with a mock draft where the Falcons trade back with NE and we go:
Lawrence, Wilson, Lance, Fields/Mac in the top 4
Bengals go Sewell, Miami take Chase, Detroit take Waddle, Carolina take Fields/Mac, Denver (have Noah Fant) go Surtain, Cowboys go Farley/Horn, Giants take Slater and then Pitts is still there for the Eagles @ 12
But it's probably more fan fiction than it is a mock draft

Re: NFL Thread
If i had to guess, with the Falcons probably being unlikely to want to give their pick to division rival Panthers to get a QB, i think Atlanta are probably coming back to this spot and Denver go up and get the 4th qb, but for this exercise Denver miss the boat again with the QB's here. The more i think about the more i like Micah Parsons with the Broncos. He's a three down LB, who has very good natural pass rushing ability, which is perfect to be in the middle of a Fangio scheme that likes to disguise and send pressure in unusual ways.

@Northern Raider, on the clock with my Cowboys at 10. The most popular expert pick is right there. Will Diggs' understudy join him in Dallas???
Re: NFL Thread
You never know ay. Maybe teams have a positional value concern with picking a TE in the top 10? A Goedert/Pitts duo would be unrealBotman wrote: ↑March 29, 2021, 11:25 am Im toying with a mock draft where the Falcons trade back with NE and we go:

Re: NFL Thread
Agreed, this trade makes too much sense. The only smidgen of doubt I have is the fact that the Broncos have a new GM... sometimes new GMs are hesitant to pull the trigger on a new QB in year 1, as the wrong move can see their dream job go up in flames really fast. Delaying their QB pick gives them a bit more time.Botman wrote: ↑March 29, 2021, 11:30 am If i had to guess, with the Falcons probably being unlikely to want to give their pick to division rival Panthers to get a QB, i think Atlanta are probably coming back to this spot and Denver go up and get the 4th qb, but for this exercise Denver miss the boat again with the QB's here. Anyway onto Dallas. They are desperate for help stopping the pass and Patrick Surtain II is their guy.
