Sounds like they might run Nami for an extended period in NSW Cup if they have announced that today.

Will be good for him to get some minutes, but he is still in our best side to me.

Does however show the danger a little of lesser players getting picked in origin. Obviously for Jacko or Papa it is not going to be an issue because they pick themselves, but Nami competing with Sutton, Soliola, Horsburgh, James, Guler, CHN etc was probably at a bit of a disadvantage not coming back until after Xmas.

Personally I would've kept Lui over Sia, but I am over the moon that Kris gets to keep a spot on the bench. I think if given the opportunity for a short stint in the forwards he could kill it. He has the size and footwork to be a bit of a dangerman.

Well that explains why Kris was never named in reserves, even though GE bullied me and agfhgjgkgltglrg mercilessly when we enquired about it.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad notches up a "nice milestone" against his old club

When Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad was recruited to the Canberra Raiders just before the start of the 2019 season, it was almost a question of "Charnze Who?" for many fans.

Coach Ricky Stuart had made the decision to shift Jack Wighton to five eighth - and was in search of a player to fill the vacant spot at fullback.

Assistant Andrew McFadden knew Nicoll-Klokstad well from his time coaching at the Warriors - he'd recruited him from the Storm - and recommended him to Stuart.

Nicoll-Klokstad debuted for the Warriors in 2017 and played only seven matches that season, six on the wing. If Raiders fans knew his name, they certainly didn't think of him as a fullback.

The youngster didn't play an NRL game in 2018. With the Warriors boasting what was possibly the best "back three" players in the competition, his pathway to first grade looked to be blocked.

And that's why he jumped at the opportunity to come to the Raiders. He arrived a week before the Raiders first trial match. He made a big impression in the second half of that game and grabbed the No. 1 jersey for the opening round. He ended the season playing in a Grand Final.

Nicoll-Klokstad is now set to notch up his 50th game in green tomorrow - and it is against his old club, the Warriors.

"It's great, especially coming across here I think only playing one or two games for the Warriors," coach Ricky Stuart said today.

"50th game against his old club. It's a nice milestone for him."

"I always believe its about 70-75 games when you can say you're an experienced first grader."

"He's still only young in his game and he's done a wonderful job for us so far, over the time he's been at the club."

"He just really loves what he does. He's energetic, brings great energy to the team, and he's been a very consistent player for us."

"Charnze is a great fullback. The good ones find their feet and find their position in the team very quickly. And Charnze has done that. He works extremely hard at his game."

Tap him up: Canberra Raiders prop Josh Papalii wants to get more ball to Tapine to unlock potential

Get Joe Tapine the ball. Canberra Raiders enforcer Josh Papalii doesn't care how they do it, but do it they must. Do it early. And do it often. Because he's the most damaging lock in the game.

"I honestly think Joseph needs the ball a bit more. He's the most damaging lock out there if we can find ways of getting him the ball early.

I like that Seb Kris is on the bench and Sticky is talking about using him in the back row as well as the backline. Powerful and fast and competitive. With some time in these roles he could well develop into the type of utility we haven't seen since Toots. I for one, look forward to watching him grow in the role.

Yeah, Kris could provide some real impact off the bench on the edges against a team like the Warriors.

I reckon GE made the move as soon as we called him out on it.

I mentioned in another post targeting O'Sullivan and Nikorima as much as possible, who both struggle defensively (particularly O'Sullivan) - but the other thing we should be looking to do in attack is grubber behind the Warriors' wingers - they are slow to turn and chase, could get some good value with George's short kicking game.

I've never seen Kris play anywhere but centres, even in lower grades and juniors I think.

He's certainly going to be strong enough. If he does evolve into a backrow/centre that would be perfect for filling one of the niches really missing from our squad for some time.

I like the Kris inclusion. I'm not sure where Havili now fits into the side long term given we now have a utility that can cover an edge and centres (*edit* and less cover in the middle). Someone should now be trained to play back up dummy half so we can include Guler/Lui, or my fav Big Red (when fit), instead of Havili.
