He is very unlikely he gets selected ahead of - Tedesco, Morris, Morris, Manu, Tupou. Then they have Billy Smith and Ikivula (? Spelling). This looks to me just like lip service to Suuali and his manager / family. Or partly how they lured him from the Bunnies.

We'll get you playing first grade as quickly as we can and fast track your development by getting you into the Origin development.

He's 18 in August. He needs to work on getting through a half of reggies without cramping.

Absolutely. There is no reason to change the rules for the bloke. He can wait like everyone else.

I could be completely wrong but I thought the 18 rule came in after Adam Ritson was repeatedly targeted with high shots and sadly his brain turned to mush.

Oh was it that long ago. I guess it can't be because Wade Graham has been talking recently about his own experience starting too young.

What criteria would the NRL use to allow one 17 year old to play first grade NRL and another not to be allowed? A judgement call?

NRL launches new ‘Defy Impossible’ TV ad featuring 2020’s biggest moments

The NRL has launched its new television commercial using the theme “Defy Impossible” with four different versions of the advertisement. This year’s advertising campaign is centred around four outstanding moments from last year, one being Raider Josh Papalii’s tackle on Jamal Fogarty.

With the new rule regarding the Bunker looking at tries to overturn, is that until the goal kick is taken?

If so, If I had been awarded a try and know it were knocked on, I'd be waving away the attempt to kick at goal

They'd review it straight after its awarded, so there'd be time to over turn before the restart is taken

Cameron Smith retires

Cameron Smith has announced his retirement, putting to bed months of speculation about his future.

Smith was honoured alongside fellow Storm icon Billy Slater with a statue outside Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on Wednesday and the former captain finally revealed his playing future.

So Cam Smith has milked as much as he could from the 2nd year of his contract with Storm by leaving the retirement announcement as close as possible to round 1?

Or would Storm have stopped paying as he wasn't turning up to training?

I've never been one of his haters. He's done some dodgy stuff but it's impossible not to appreciate him as a player.

However announcing his retirement one day before the season kicks off... Seriously, how self absorbed.

Adios. Weird timing to announce it, but at least he’s not coming back. I couldn’t handle another Darren Lockyer style farewell season celebrating even the most insignificant thing...

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
