Nah, it consistently rated about half a mil per night

That's not bad for a trash concept

There's been more hyped shows than that, that were axed after 2 or 3 eps

Holey Moley is an awful show that I found I kept watching. A bit of mindless entertainment to break the monotony. Rated OK to start with. Not sure how sustainable that will be as there could be a lot of sameness about the content. The Uranus jokes have already dried up.

Even if it's not particularly popular around these parts, Futurama is a cult favourite that a lot of people will be glad is there. I don't think it's ever been streamable in Australia until now, it's famously inaccessible here.

I can't watch it. I watched one full season a few years back and I can't stand all the fake drama. I also hate those shows that show you what's coming up after the ad break. Its all just filler for a lack of content. I will confess the season I watched was a train wreck but I get the impression it's the same train wreck every year.

The Block got the same. Last time I watched, it was a 90 min show, with only 30 mins of it being about building.

Scotty Whistles: Righto guys, you’re under the pump, and you have 3hrs left to get your ensuites done. We know you’re stressed. We figured what better way to relieve that stress than to hit the sand dunes, do some doughies and speed up the erosion process in your Colorado Utes.

After that, our mates at Woronora Plumbing want you to sing karaoke and do the Gangnam Style dance in their warehouse.

What does this have to do with building? **** knows. But if the ensuites aren’t done this afternoon, you’ll be sure to be on the cover of New Idea tomorrow. So get to it!

I just watched “I Know This Much Is True”. I had missed it, until I saw Mark Ruffalo winning a Golden Globe. Tough to watch at times, but it’s very good television. Surprisingly not that well reviewed by some. But it clearly has an impact with audiences. I’d really recommend it, but those who have issues with mental health or know people with them might find it too disturbing.

I just sort of finished watching The Flight Attendant. It was an absolute mess, strangely well reviewed by critics. I struggled to keep my attention on it. Perhaps that impacted my appreciation of it. It was expensively staged and produced. An expensively staged and produced mess.

WIN and Nine will join forces again, but that means jobs will go at Nine's newsroom in Canberra

The diversity of Canberra-based television news coverage will shrink from July this year and more TV news jobs will go in the ACT after Nine and WIN announced a new regional affiliation agreement on Friday. From July, WIN will move its local news bulletin to 5.30pm before taking the 6pm national bulletin out of Sydney.

Southern Cross said it "looks forward to discussions in coming weeks with Network Ten to establish a new affiliation ... in southern NSW".

Anyone watching Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Been a cracking show. I've really been enjoying the Post-End Game PTSD themes being discussed in this and Wandavision. The shows are doing a good job at exploring a side to these heroes rarely touched on

Yeah i've been watching it. Eager to see the finale

Got some strong theories about what is going to happen but man there is a lot to go on...

Who is the power broker? Sharon Carter? If not whats her story?
Johnny Walker full transformation into US Agent, the call from Madame Hydra
Sam becoming Cap and being accepted in that role
Isaiah Bradley - surely they're not done with on that front?
Baron Zemo - Off to the Raft but this is surely not it for Zemo with all the thunderbolts set up... stinger of Zemo escaping?
Torres becoming the Falcon?
Where to now for Bucky?
The flag smashers and tidying up that

There is A LOT of loose ends to tie up in a single episode.

Its been good, Wyatt Russell (Son of Kurt and Goldie Hawn) who plays John Walker (AKA new Captain America) has done a terrific job. I feel it touches a bit on the first Captain America movie. Back then they chose Steve not because of his ability, but because of his heart. I feel them choosing John is kind of "What would happen if they picked the perfect soldier instead" scenario.

He's had some great moments, of him trying to live up to the All American Hero image. I don't want to give too much away, but there's one scene where he gets his proverbial handed to him by the Dora Milaje, which gets to him because "They're not even super soldiers".

Yeah I don't know. I have a theory she's working for S.H.I.E.L.D. I also read there's a big name, never seen in the movies character played by an award winning actor to hit the MCU. Im praying that its Kingpin. D'onofrio slayed it in Daredevil... Unless they were referring to JLD's cameo last week
Botman wrote: April 22, 2021, 1:39 pmJohnny Walker full transformation into US Agent, the call from Madame Hydra
I'm assuming you caught the post-credit clib last week? Chills
Botman wrote: April 22, 2021, 1:39 pmSam becoming Cap and being accepted in that role
This Im looking forward to seeing. After the Rockyesque montage last week.
Botman wrote: April 22, 2021, 1:39 pmIsaiah Bradley - surely they're not done with on that front?
I've seen theories maybe he's the Power Broker. He has an unlimited access to the serum, and he has a grudge against the system for locking him away. Not entirely convinced
Botman wrote: April 22, 2021, 1:39 pmBaron Zemo - Off to the Raft but this is surely not it for Zemo with all the thunderbolts set up... stinger of Zemo escaping?

Torres will definitely become the Falcon, and I feel this will be Bucky's swansong. No other reason apart from most of the other Avengers from the first phase have left, or are wrapping up, so maybe he will ride off into the sunset.

But you're right. Business is about to pick up this week

Re: the surprise cameo, it was JLD's, that character she played was Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine aka Madame Hydra. Very interesting character in the comics (i've actually recently gotten right into marvel comics, its the best and nerdiest thing ive ever done) and i think will be heavily involved through phase 4 and 5 of the MCU

I agree that Bradley is an unlikely power broker, also the power broker is a sort of big bad, in a way, for this this series, turning the sympathetic, black captain America into the bad guy doesn't fit thematically with a series that has tried to touch on race and inequality in such an overt way. Just doesn't fit

I think this and WandaVision have shown there is plenty of space in the MCU for short series like this to help fill in the gaps and lay the foundation for the big blockbuster movies

I could see this becoming the norm, where 3-4 series all sort of tie together, flesh out new characters, relationships etc so that when they do the blockbuster, bring all the stars together movies, they can really just unleash for 2-3 hours having already done the character ground work

Mostly what im looking for in the finale is introduction of mutants into the MCU, im HURTING for an MCU version of X-men either via movie or tv series... anything to just sort of set a marker down on mutants and how they'll handle their integration into the MCU

Yes! I got into Marvel and comics via X-Men growing up... well Dad started me on Phantom, but X-Men were the first I got myself into. So I’m curious to see how they get involved in the universe. Dying for Gambit to have a decent run. I’d like to see how they explain where they’ve been this whole time. But I wouldn’t care if they don’t.

You’re right though, what they’re doing with these series are perfect fillers between movies. It’s also a good opportunity to test the water for new characters.

Intrigued by you saying you’ve been getting back into comics. I’ve been contemplating it, thinking I could read them on the commute to work.

I tried wandavision but couldn't get through 2 episodes. There are conflicting opinions on whether it's worth watching or not and I didn't find it particularly engaging. I was big on comics growing up and loved a lot of the early movies but for me there has been too many... but now I guess there hasn't been one for a while.

Tuning in to Lego masters has been pretty good.
