AUDIO: Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart speaks about some pre-season woes
SG Ball sackings. We’re not running a crèche here. I know there’s some disappointed parents, but if those players want to play in the local competition and show me they want to be a Raider, they get a second chance.
DUI charges. I did not say that Corey Harawira-Naera and Corey Horsburgh would not play Round 1. The NRL will do what the NRL’s got to do.

NRL bubble bursting has knock on effect for Soliola
The NRL Bubble has burst, allowing Sia Soliola to return to one of his loves - helping the homeless. He's back working at the Early Morning Centre in Civic - providing take-away meals to the ACT's less fortunate.
"Things have sort of had to change a little bit with what we've had to do at the Early Morning Centre. It's a shame we can't get everyone in indoors and serve everyone personally, but we still get to do takeaways.

I'm reserved about our back 5. But I'm hopeful.
If they fire we'll be hard to stop.
Come on Curtis, have a great year mate.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Just hope Ryan stays injury free. He seems to have fitted in well
Re: Toughest preseason ever 2021
Who replaces John Bateman at the Canberra Raiders?
Hudson Young's got the backing of international back-rower Joe Tapine to slot straight in, in place of John Bateman. Young and Corey Harawira-Naera were the two most likely candidates, but an off-season, drink-driving charge could see the latter suspended for the start of the NRL campaign.
"He looks good man. He's been training a bit in the back row. He's looking strong," Tapine said. "I think he'll get the spot personally.

I guess we missed Smelliott's 300th game last time out, 100 tries in 300 games is pretty fair going.
I'm going to be devastated when he hangs them up, he's had a massive impact

I gave him full wraps for that game. Clearly buggered and out on his feet and getting targeted in defence- he had nothing left for attack but he just kept turning up to make every tackle.Green Beers wrote: ↑February 25, 2021, 3:52 pmHe did play the full 80 and didn’t do to much wrongpapabear wrote: ↑February 25, 2021, 9:24 amexcept for his first game in the heat.Green Beers wrote: ↑February 22, 2021, 9:09 pm Top our all time recruits, I don’t care about Hodgson or Williams, smelliot has been an 7 or 8 every game he has played for the Raiders

How do you post pics of selfie’s with players on here with an iPhone I’m technologically impaired
Re: Toughest preseason ever 2021
You need to upload them using Tapatalk. Or you can embed Twitter, Instagram or Facebook posts, which include the pic, using the media code (far right symbol on the code menu).Green Beers wrote: ↑February 25, 2021, 5:55 pm How do you post pics of selfie’s with players on here with an iPhone I’m technologically impaired

Re: Toughest preseason ever 2021
Given you have an iPhone, it would make sense to download Tapatalk on the Apple App Store. That gives you mobile device access to The Greenhouse (and a whole pile of other forums, if you wanted). Once you have it, you can then easily upload a photo into a post.

That footage of the players doing the Viking clap with school kids shows just how good it is. That kind of thing will get kids wanting to go to games to participate it, and dragging their parents along. And then hopefully converting them into fans.greeneyed wrote: ↑March 1, 2021, 3:47 pm Canberra Raiders help inspire the region’s schools
