POLL: Strongest 2021 line up: Centres

Post by greeneyed »

POLL: Strongest 2021 line up: Centres

What's your strongest possible 2021 Canberra Raiders line up? That's what we are asking the readers of The Greenhouse. We're looking at the "Locks and contenders" for each position in the team in a special series of articles. Some players have clearly locked down their spot but we're looking at all the contenders for places in the Green Machine's top 17. For contentious positions, we're supplementing the discussion with a series of polls... and in the first of those polls, we're asking: Who should be the starting centres in 2021?

Remember, we're looking at the strongest possible team, irrespective of injuries.

You have TWO votes in this poll and you may change your vote.

We need some mongrel at centre and I think Timoko will develop nicely into the role. I also can’t stand Scott, he carries on like a pork chop. I wish the club would get rid of him, even at a loss.

I'll never forget him "shushing" the crowd after scoring one gimme try, which was preceded by 9 or 10 games of pure garbage.

Yeah, I went with the Crokomo.

I desperately want Curtis Scott (and Toots) to bounce back, but in 5 minutes of game time Timoko demonstrated more impact that Scott did his entire season.

Croker and Timoko. Scott did nothing to warrant being an incumbent, he shouldn't be rewarded with a spot just due to his salary.

I would advocate for an open competition for both centre spots in the event that Croker isnt ready for round 1.
If he is, then HSS, Timoko and Scott should all be fighting it out in pre season for first crack

I dont expect that to be the case though. I expect the coach to select Croker (if healthy) and Scott to start the year

Few blokes showing their age here

I suspect Scott and Croker are seen as the starting pair. Until we find another 80%+ GKer, that won't be change for Toots. As for Scott, he gets 1st crack, but the other 2, add in Hoppa, will give him a run for his money.

Matt, there may be posters on here who have never heard of the Beach Boys. Very clever of GE though. If they ever have individual music for players as they run onto the field that is a great tune for Timoko. I don't know that JC will be fit to start the season and I would not consider Curtis Scott a certainty, but then I'm not Ricky.

I would trial Harley Smith-Shields and Timoko or in GE speak, Haroko.

The team is "strongest 17", not "rd1 17" RR.

Im looking at HSS for Rd1, as he played left in that Baby Raiders game vs Sharks, or rather Newton Jets
