You’ve got to be the unluckiest D-grader on the circuit..

Way better than me of course.
can't catch a break, umpire and the other team all apologised post game, still sucks

In 120 games of grade I've never been given out lbw after hitting it

Generally just miss it and get bowled

All right team..time for a story..

Remember..I speak the truth.

My unit was posted to RAAF Base Butterworth.. Malaysia 1989.

3 months. It’s a constant presence in Asia and still stands today..since 1957.

We had a blast. I saw plenty of stuff.

Butterworth is an Australian Airforce base on mainland SEAsia. A 10min ferry ride gets you to Penang. We were entering Thailand on weekends, leaving Butterworth on Friday arvos and catching a minibus into Thailand with passport in hand..we’d done this on plenty of occasions. Young and dumb and full wallets..

We had a great time.

For all of you who have been to Phuket..I’ll say no more.

Anyway..a few weeks later we entered Thailand on exercise. It was by train. A 10hr journey. When we arrived at the border we were all ushered off the train and a thorough pat down and passport check was conducted. Then it all turned very ugly..

A few of us..the boys who had been regularly visiting Thailand the past few weekends..including myself were held at gun point at the border.

We were all in uniform, including our hierarchy..officers I mean. They had no idea what us noncommissioned were getting up to in our time off. It turns out that our passports had not been stamped the past few weeks..either entering Thailand or existing Malaysia..it got ugly.

I had a 9mm pistol held to my head..my boss was having kittens.

Eventually it all got sorted.

Just found out my uncle passed away last night. He was one of my family members who lost their house in the New Year's fires.
Typical way to bookend this year. 2020 can go jump in the lake

Question for the office workers... well for anyone who's on a phone at work. Does anyone else get a weird fear they're going to wrap a call up saying "Love you", or is that just me? All this week, I've been tensing up at the end of my calls and saying "Dont say it, don't say it.." in my head at the conclusion of each call.

Surely Im not the only one? I find its the same as when you get that weird feeling your body's going to throw you off a cliff, and you become really self-aware of it

No fear of it for myself, but I’ve had a co-worker say it to a customer right before hanging up on them Image

Haha see it happens! I’ve never done it, but this week I became really self aware that I could say it.

Like when you stand at a train platform, and get worried your body’s going to just fling itself in front of an oncoming train

For our work Christmas party we went to a painting and wine afternoon. We all painted an emu and had a few drinks. Something different and it was actually a heap of fun. I'd recommend it to anyone. They even have children's sessions, without the alcohol.

It’s a sad day in the 2765. Getting out of the car yesterday, the strap on my favourite Havi’s snapped.

As if the year couldn’t get any worse. Now I don’t know what to wear on Xmas day. Had to mow the laws barefoot, because shoes didn’t feel right.
