Pleasing to see Seb Kris front and centre of a lot of the pictures and looking very much like he's ready to play.

The other interesting one was Xavier Savage- he was a wiry thin 17 year old sprinter last time I saw him pictured. Looking like he's grown into a footy player too.

There's some wide open spots in the backline and even guys like Wood and Savage can easily come into the frame when you consider Rapana is likely to miss the odd week here and there these days with injury.
Seb Kris would have 2 or 3 weeks head start on Timoko, HSS and Simmo though from training with the u21s though or were they in that too?

Pretty sure that the top 30 players were given until yesterday, Seb on a train and trial was training before the U21s came back even. But then again, Seb missed the whole year before that.

Jarrett Subloo not on the list of development players, or training with the top squad, so it looks like he’s not being renewed...

Having looked up his age again, maybe he is. Not listed by the club in that squad though.

James is looking pretty trim. Fingers crossed it's a good move for him.

Xavier Savage also seems to have left Semi in all sorts in one of the opposed sessions.

How far ajar is every team’s premiership window in 2021?

RAIDERS

2020 finish: 5th

2021 gains: Caleb Aekins, Harry Rushton, Ryan James

2021 losses: Nick Cotric, John Bateman, Michael Oldfield, Andre Niko, Kurt Baptiste

Premiership window: Wide open

Explainer: Canberra has been painfully close the last two years but hasn’t quite been able to touch the silverware. In 2019 it was only a dominant Roosters side - and some controversial refereeing - that stood in the way of the Raiders claiming the Provan Summons Trophy. This year they lost their best player, Josh Hodgson, to injury and who knows how their season finishes if he is able to compete in finals. Hodgson will return to the side in 2021 although they have lost winger Nick Cotric and backrower John Bateman. Still, the Raiders will be punching with the contenders at the end of the season and their chance to bring the trophy to the nation’s capital is right now.

Kai O’Donnell looking to take more prominent part in 2021 after making his debut this year

Ricky Stuart and his coaching staff at the Raiders used the 2020 NRL season as a year to blood the next generation. O’Donnell, in particular, was taken aback when he found out that he’d be donning the lime green for the first time.

“Once Ricky sat us down and announced it I was pretty emotional but I was buzzing. We had to train straight away after the announcement. Once training finished I called my mum and my partner and they were both balling their eyes out, I then called my dad who was getting pretty emotional as well.”

Every NRL team has a Jenga piece: Take out these men and their season could topple

RAIDERS - Jack Wighton

Josh Hodgson was in this spot in last season’s list but Ricky’s Raiders proved their doubters wrong by thriving without their first-choice hooker. Of course, they will be sweating on the availability of Tom Starling who has been referred to the NRL integrity unit after an alleged assault on police. The Raiders did incredibly well to deal with any injuries thrown their way last season but the one that would severely impact their premiership chances would have to be to five-eighth Wighton. Similarly to Melbourne’s Cameron Munster, Wighton’s running game and explosive approach close to the line has proven an additional headache for opposition defence, creating indecision and opening up opportunities for others around him.

if Jarrett Subloo never plays NRL again, surely he will forever hold the record of the least amount of playing time of any NRL player.

Looking at his Instagram he comes across as the sort of player that fits into our culture. Only 23 but already married and had one son Nixon born in February this year.

Welcome to the club Caleb.

I don’t know if we have ever had a Caleb play for the Raiders. I reckon we might have two by the end of 2021.
