At least it's not the GC.

Any hints of sympathy for the Bronco's have already evaporated. Let the beatings continue and Ch9 can telecast every last one of them.

Let’s not worry too much about the Broncos.

Let’s just dream for a minute - late Sunday afternoon in March, warm day but not too hot and ok by mid afternoon - Canberrans pouring out of their homes to head out Canberra Stadium to meet up with their friends and watch the team they love - hopefully with NO RESTRICTIONS. probably 16-17k rewarding this team that has performed so well over the past two years as we start our campaign to bring home our fourth premiership.

That is my 2021 dream.

Canberra Raiders to return to Wagga Wagga in 2021

The National Rugby League today announced the 2021 NRL Premiership Schedule will include six matches in regional NSW Towns, bringing elite rugby league back to the bush after a COVID-19 impacted season.

The following locations will host games in the Regional Series NRL Telstra Premiership. Teams in brackets will take a home game to the regional centre:

Bathurst (Penrith Panthers)
Wagga Wagga (Canberra Raiders)
Tamworth (Wests Tigers)
Dubbo (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
Mudgee (Manly Warringah Sea Eagles)
Coffs Harbour (Cronulla Sutherland Sharks)

Australian Rugby League Commission Chairman Peter V'landys AM said rugby league was in the DNA of regional NSW and the Commission would deliver on a promise to bring more elite rugby league to the regions.

"I made a promise to regional NSW that we would take games back to the bush as soon as the competition returned to normality. The infection rate is now zero so we will deliver on that promise and schedule NRL games in six different towns,'' he said.

"Nowhere is rugby league stronger than in our regions. This year COVID meant we were only able to take one game to regional NSW, so we will make good on that with six games next year.

"One of the Commission's major objectives in the next three years is to reinvigorate Country Rugby League. Accordingly there is no better way than to take the game's stars to Country heartland and inspire participation at all levels."

Mr V'landys thanked NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro for his ongoing support of rugby league.

"There's no stronger supporter in government for our game than the Deputy Premier. Without the efforts of John we would not have been able to play this year. His common sense approach procures major outcomes for NSW,'' he said.

"John with his common touch understands how important taking these matches to the bush are and what it means to these communities.

"I also want to thank our six clubs for their commitment to taking a home game to a regional centre."

NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro said regional NSW had endured an extremely tough few years with prolonged drought, bushfires and now COVID, and these six regionally based NRL games will bring much needed stimulus and entertainment to regional areas.

"There's nothing quite like a game of footy to boost morale and nobody deserves it more than our resilient communities in the regions," Mr Barilaro said.

"Bathurst, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Dubbo, Mudgee and Coffs will play host to a first grade game in the 2021 NRL Telstra Premiership Schedule which will benefit those towns and surrounding areas beyond measure.

"Many professional NRL players come from regional towns and I'm sure they, and the entire state of NSW, thank the NRL for making this a reality.

"Sydney might be the home of NRL, but the regions are where it was born."

Chair of the NSW Government's NRL Regional Taskforce Dugald Saunders said this is huge news for regional communities across NSW.

"The NRL and the NSW Government have been working closely together to make this happen and today we can officially announce that regional NSW will play host to six games in 2021," Mr Saunders said.

"This is a win for the regions and we hope to expand this by hosting more regionally based NRL games in the future."

The dates and away teams involved in the Regional Series NRL Telstra Premiership will be confirmed in the full schedule release on Thursday (November 26).

I would be surprised if we are not playing in at least one of those regional matches as the away team in addition to our home game in Wagga.

Canberra Raiders set to be rewarded with more free-to-air exposure

It's believed the Canberra Raiders will have at least three home games televised on free-to-air in 2021 - beginning with their round one clash against the Wests Tigers - plus a handful more on the road. The Raiders will host the Newcastle Knights in Wagga Wagga on May 8 - the day after the Wagga Gold Cup.

Based on the tone of the article we'll probably end up with a bunch of Sunday's for away games and then the 7.30 Saturday FTA slot for the last 5 rounds

Canberra Raiders have third easiest draw?

The 2020 season finished only just over a month ago but the draw for next year is already here. With the help of the Fox Sports Lab, we have broken down just how difficult each team’s draw is. The strength of the schedule is based off the Lab Predictor’s ratings for each team, which also factors in how teams have historically gone at scheduled venues.

Lots of travel early on. Gold Coast for Easter Weekend, Townsville for the ANZAC Day weekend, Brisbane for Magic Round in May and Perth at the end of May.

Sadly I think Europe will be off the agenda first half of next year, good opportunity to get around the country.

Presumably it is top 4 based on the H&A season not the 4 prelim finalists - it is only possible for us to play 6 games against Prelim finalists. We play 4. (Storm twice, Penrith and Souths once - obviously we don't play ourselves)

likely already be at Kirra for Easter so that works well.

should make rd1 also plus a few Saturday options always help for travel.

One thing I thing the coaching staff will like is we only have two back to back away games. Rounds 4 and 5 (Gold Coast and Penrith) and Round 19 and 20 (Parramatta and Newcastle).

Teams we DON'T play at home - Panthers, Cowboys, Bulldogs
Teams we DON'T play away - Tigers, Souths, Broncos.

We play Storm x2 and Chooks x2. Doesn't seem that easy.

Of course plenty of other teams will play them x2 as well.

There's always a couple of teams that dramatically improve and a couple that slide away anyway.

Is Thursday a FTA slot? We have 5 of those. Depends how they are handled but there could be a few short turnarounds on them. Those are hardest to handle if you play good teams. Just checked- home to Souffs, away to Eels and Manly at Brooky off 5 day turnarounds. All 3 are contenders and physical teams- and I expect all of them to be in around the top 6, if not the top 4. Coaches and conditioning staff managing those games will be key. They'll be jockeying with us for those finals spots so dropping 2 of those games would hurt.

The run home is pretty tough- Storm, Sea Eagles, Chooks + Who knows what warriors will be like.

Numbers still don’t seem to check out. If we play Panthers and Parra once then that’s only 6 against top 4 by my count.
