I'm fairly good with schoolboy rugby up here, but I can't say I've heard of him.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Good luck to him. Certainly fills the "big winger" brief in a back 5 if he kicks on.

NZ 16s Player of the Year | Sione Moala
Sione had a brilliant season on the field and epitomises the values of New Zealand Rugby League off the field. As a skillful half, Sione’s leadership and performance was integral to the New Zealand Resident 16s win over the Toa Samoa 16s.

Queensland’s top rookies dreaming of being part of State of Origin next’s generation

JAYDEN CLARKSON (Wavell SHS)

Clarkson is a hard working front rower in the Jarrod Wallace or Ben Hannant mould. There is just something about this Wavell SHS old boy that makes you think he will come out the other side of the junior system. Clarkson is signed by Canberra who have fellow Queensland rookies like KEEGAN VANDENBERG and XAVIER SAVAGE (winger, see story below).

ADRIAN TREVILYAN (Kirwan SHS)

The Canberra Raiders have shown great judgment in sneaking under the noses of the North Queensland Cowboys to secure Kirwan SHS High hooker Adrian Trevilyan and his teammate, halfback BRAD SCHNEIDER. Trevilyan is a Queensland under 18s representative who won the 2019 Peter Sterling Medal at the National Schoolboys Championship.

XAVIER SAVAGE (Palm Beach Currumbin)

You’d pay money to watch Reece Walsh, Alofianan Khan-Pereira and Savage in a foot race. Savage is a North Queensland native who came to PBC SHS via elite private school Brisbane Boys College. Another Raiders signing, he has sheer speed which makes him an enticing prospect.

PRINSTON ESERA (Wavell SHS)

PRINSTON ESERA and his brother CALEB ESERA were two exciting prospects under lock and key to the Canberra Raiders. Caleb, a rangy second rower, has left school but his brother will be playing his third season in the Langer Cup next season for Wavell SHS. A beautiful mover, a real rolls royce of centres, this kid Prinston Esera has got it.

How exciting is it to see these comps coming back? Let’s hope Sydney gets over this little hump at the moment and we have a great season. Well worth any Raiders fans popping out to a game if you have a bit of spare time one afternoon. It is great footy and for some playing at the top level is closer than you think.

Canberra Raiders Junior Representatives draw for 2021 announced

The NSWRL has decided to increase age groups in SG Ball Cup (Under 19s), Tarsha Gale Cup (Under 19s) and Harold Matthews Cups (Under 17s) in 2021, while the Laurie Daley Cup (Under 18s) and Andrew Johns Cup (under 16s) will remain the same. The SG Ball Cup and Harold Matthews Cup will unveil a new finals format which will involve the top six teams. Both competitions will have 15 teams and be played over nine rounds with the Grand Finals set down for the weekend of 24 April. The Tarsha Gale Cup will also have a top six finals format with the competition to have nine teams and be played over nine rounds. The Grand Final will be held on 24 April.

The Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup will be a 10-team competition but will be split into a Northern and Southern Pool. There will be five rounds and a top four finals system with the Grand Final scheduled for 28 March.

Sadly, it seem this season is under threat again. We still have five weeks but under the current rules our first round would have to be played at Seiffert or Goulburn to comply with the border rules.

Let’s hope we don’t go through more disruptions.

Trial results

Harold Matthews

Illawarra Steelers 16 defeated Canberra Raiders 8

SG Ball

Illawarra Steelers 24 defeated Canberra Raiders 12

Report from the ground was that conditions were very hot and windy, not a lot of stand outs for the Raiders. Understand there’ll be further trials next weekend against the Tigers at Moss Vale.
