The road to a premiership was always going to pass through 2 of either the Storm, Roosters and Panthers.
If we’re good enough we win, if not, well that’s our fault for not doing more during the season to finish higher.
Because now we need to pass through all 3, plus the sharks, rather than 2

Is what it is.
Season has definitely favoured Parra and Penrith.
We all knew this and now we’re seeing it in play.

Exactly. It’s a finals series. You play against good teams. Nothing will come easy and the best will rise to the top. This team is more than capable. Souths just put 60 on the roosters!!

No team has won the NRL outside the top 4....So maybe we change that.

Does anyone know what position Subloo played in his 90sec cameo?

Oooh. I’d forgotten about that. Nice comparison.

I’ve been referring to how we were the first team to win from fifth when that was considered impossibly hard. But your example is better.

Feeling bummed about our run to the GF HOWEVER we have to focus on beating Sharks otherwise it'll all be irrelevant.

No team had ever won from the bottom of the top 5 system either until the Raiders won 4 straight finals in 1989.

That’s some nice positive thinking reflecting on what happened 26 and 31 years ago. Comp was a bit different back then.

Is it impossible - no. Is it extremely unlikely - yes.

Put it another way... the Sharks were repeatedly offside on their own goal line last night. Not even a penalty. What happened last week again?

As I have said many times previously... I don't think it is conscious. I'm not in any way suggesting it is conscious. It is unconscious. But it is funny how it works out isn't it?

The best thing to come out of last nights game is the hunger that these young players will take from this game. Those that really want it will have a fire lit that will drive a huge off season.

Sin Bin was the correct call but no way did Timoko play at the kick in the lead up!

If Souths can put 60 on the Roosters, I don't think we need to be afraid of them - they're going out in straight sets. That will leave us to beat the Storm in a prelim. Not the slightest bit impossible, especially if that Smith sycophant Atkins isn't on the whistle.

And Penrith will be due for a loss by then...

I don’t know how much to take away from that roosters loss this round.. I mean, how much can you take away from the Rabbitohs loss against the bottom of the ladder bulldogs now that they’ve smashed the roosters? The last round of the year are trials

I've only skim read last 2 pages above so someone may have mentioned this... but we may have been better off losing to Sharks. Tigers were up for it and if Parra were safe in 4th anyway it may have gone the other way. I was gutted to see Parra run 3rd. They stink. And I think Bunnies in a better spot than us from 6th.

You can only play with the cards you are dealt I guess.

Rewatching the game. Lui set the tone in the first five minutes and said we’re here to play.

Finally got to see the full game. What a fantastic performance from our boys.

Lui was absolutely outstanding in the first half. Solid return from Soliola.

I was gobsmacked at how fluid our attack was with a backline that hasn't played a single game together this season. Credit to our two halves (particularly Williams) and Starling at dummy half. The entire team competed well and chased hard.

I just need to say that Timoko should dead set have earnt a couple of set restarts in the first half. Cronulla couldn't get him down and Klein allowed them to wrestle with him for way longer than they should have.

That was one of the most enjoyable games I've watched in years.

I asked a few of the boys on Friday to do a quick video wishing my son the best in his Under 11s Grand Final on Saturday and 3 players did it for him.

He was stoked and played a blinder and they won.

Then we went to the game and the Raiders won and we waited after the game to thank the boys. Nic gave him his shirt and Ricky came over and had a chat with us.

(Yes, we social distanced).

Further evidence that they're a good bunch of humans.

NRL.com power rankings

3. Canberra Raiders (4)
I definitely underestimated the Raiders and didn't give them the respect they deserved going into the finals. I thought they may have been a bit short on points. But they've got some momentum and grit and will try to out-compete opponents on every play. They're a shot of causing a boilover and getting to at least week three of the playoffs.

After re-watching the game HSS was great. He was the pick of the 3 in this game.
Doesn't have the physicality of Timoko or Valemei but is very smart and just looks a natural footballer. He wasn't just getting into place for the drop out he was urgent so he read the play. His defense was fine until he started to have problems closing his hand due to the thumb injury and even then nothing negative came from his misses. The stats don't tell the story. He looks like he's always talking and communicating in defense.

Valemei didn't do much wrong but I was hoping for more involvement. He's shown in other games he's got plenty to work with.
Timoko had some strong carries but predictably as the game wore on he got a little tired and stopped coming off the line in defense. He certainly wasn't alone in that. Going to be great to see what he can do as he gets fitter and as other's have said he brings something we've lacked a little since BJ moved on.

I hope we get to keep all 3.
