Obviously, our best team comes in.

That said, if Sutton is right to go, CHN drops out for Sia. I've been unimpressed with his defence for quite a while and tonight just sealed the deal.

This but start Havili. We have looked better with him on the field to straighten up the running and harden up the defence a bit. Starling was caught out a few times today in defence so best to give him a bit of extra time on the bench to come out and work his magic on tired forwards instead.

If Sutton isn't broken put him in for CHN.

Sutton is broken.
Starling got caught out defending towards an edge, off balance, 1 on 1 against bigger guys. That doesn't happen in our normally organized defense with your hooker floating in the middle instead of covering on the breakdown.

The danger is thinking we only need to turn up to beat the Sharks. They will pull our pants down if we go into the game with that kind of attitude and mentality. Our record against Sharks at home isn't the greatest. And they will have a point to prove after being written off by everyone as merely making up the numbers.

Anyone got any idea of when this game will be?

I expected maybe Saturday due to Storm playing tomorrow, meaning they’d get the Sunday game?

Just a reminder everyone... we will not permit #NEEDMEMBERSCODE posts for finals tickets.

It not only puts your own future membership benefits at risk... but it is not fair on the other members who might miss out on their membership benefits that is, finals tickets, in a year when tickets will be more scarce than usual.

The NRL will officially announce venues and kick-off times at the end of the round after Sunday’s games.

Yeah, this. We have to really work hard to avoid cockiness this week. Apart from everything else, that wound to their pride after being beaten handily by our reserve team will be smarting and they will be very determined to make up for it.

Hopefully after that rest the boys will be strong and ready, but it'll be attitude that needs keeping an eye on this week. We only have one shot this year, we can't afford to stumble.

Remember when Manly were robbed of a win against Parramatta with that forward pass on the try that would of won the game?

Extremely unlucky not to make the 4, but we pay for that indifferent early season form where we lost to Manly and Newcastle. I actually don’t mind the draw, now that we have rested a bunch of our first team players. In any season, you most likely have to beat 3 of the Top 4 to win the GF (that is what we had to do last year) - first things first, we have to beat the Sharks.

Sharks will be a good test for our defence. Brailey is a very quick player out of dummy half, if we let them get any sort of roll on he will make it difficult for us. Talikai on Bateman is a slight concern (if they go with Graham at five eighth). Ramien and Dugan are strong ball carriers but suspect defensively. If they go with Graham at half, they won’t have a great long kicking game with Townsend as their only real option (Brailey can kick from hooker, too). In saying all this - no Johnson makes this game far less tricky than it could have been. Townsend is no where near him creatively, and Graham is better suited to an edge.

We should be able to defend them well enough, and their defence has been horrible all year. We will be deserved favourites, but we can’t afford another slow start. I imagine Soliola comes in for Sutton, I doubt Ricky will make any major changes other than that. If we play at our best, we should have too much for the Sharks - but see Manly and Newcastle games for examples when we didn’t turn up.

Which i find kind of hilarious considering we are in 3 of the top 5 highest rated games on Fox this season.

Channel 9 is pulling it's pud thinking about an all Sydney Grand Final no doubt.

This is the same channel 9 who will reward the Broncos for getting the spoon by giving them more fta games next year than other team.

Very doubtful at a guess. Email last night said members were able to purchase up to 8 tickets per transaction. I really hope that's an error, particularly with number restrictions on stadiums.

Zero,

I'd imagine the government will allow 50% capacity, but even then theres pretty much no chance of any general allocation leftover

That's what it says... and frankly, I was stunned. It is a ridiculous number per transaction, given tickets will be scarce.

Yep. We have about 20,000 members and probably about 10,000 people able to attend - best case scenario? - the 8 ticket cap makes no sense whatsoever. There is going to be a lot of pissed off people that miss out.

I guess I will just have to hope they do hold some back. Last year I could only get standing tickets, only for better seats to be released later to the general public later in the day and during the week of the prelim.

The real problem is the restrictions. This would probably sell strongly anyway, but with 50% capacity we'll sell it out during member sale.

The wild card is the Sharks fans. How many of them will try and come?

The ridiculous part is that the Sharks fans can come...but the ACT Government is still telling Canberrans not to go to Sydney unless absolutely necessary.

Putting aside all of the usual disclaimers about complacency etc, if we can't comfortably despatch the Sharks there is no point wringing our hands over a harder finals path.

If we have serious premiership ambitions our game on Saturday should be nothing more than a means to build momentum and confidence for week 2 when the real test begins and we learn whether we are up to the task of consecutively beating 3 of the top 6 sides (if Bunnies go on a run) to win our 4th premiership.
