So anybody STILL think 5th is a better option than 4th? Can we finally put this madness to bed?

Boys need to win today and then we need to all get behind the mighty Tigers!

I agree with you. We all like winning. So let's do that today.

And if we finish 4th we play Penny and that's nothing to be afraid of.

They can't keep this form up, they'll fall over.

I'm confident coming up against any opposition really.

5th was never better than 4th. With you there.

imo the most likely result from here is us 5th, Parra 4th. Parra won't mind the idea of crossing the road to play Penrith, rather than traveling to play Melbourne. So if we lose (which is highly likely) Parra will have nothing to play for.

Whatever happens will be an interesting evening. I sure hope I'm wrong and the stars align for us

Only if the Eels win as well. Only team to play it as per the expected result so far this week are the Broncos, as in ****.

I'm kinda worried the Eels lose, we win and take 4th, I really don't want that week one match up against Punrith :(
Why not? A second chance. Or better yet, catch Penny Panthers, bam home prelim.
Especially after giving the boys a rest. We can take them. Lets hope we jag 4th

a. Raiders to Grind but will be puffed out late in both halves (Sharks 28-20)

b. new Raiders will be pumped and excited to promote their opportunity (Raiders 26-14)

c. sharks pump us, we move on (Sharks 30-6)

d. low scoring ugly game (14-10)

The forward pack chosen today is far from horrible. There's plenty of go forward there.

All those guys have been regular top 17 starters all year so the match fitness won't be an issue.

Our backs, other than Semi and Nick have played little to no footy.

They'll be up..and excited.

Man to man..we are still stronger than Crudnulla !!

Best case scenario, we win and parra lose.
Second best we lose and parra lose
Worst case we win/lose and parra win
Either way we need parra to lose to avoid panthers or chooks.

Ricky Stuart interview on ABC Canberra Grandstand:

Nine changes to the side. Message to young players? All good enough to play first grade. I wouldn't have them there if I didn't think they could do the job. Good to have some debutants, and some players starting for the first time - Matt Timoko and Harley Smith-Shields. Will show them what they need to do as first graders.

Joy in the group about the debutants. The fringe players have been dedicated to the preparation of the top 17, they study the video and attack and defend as the opponent each week in our scrimmage games. They get the reward this week, shows appreciation for what they've done. We don't know when one of these boys might be called on in the finals as well, so it is good that they get some football under the belt. It's a good chance for some players to get their Raider number today. I'm not concerned about them at all, they'll be nervous and excited, but that's a good sign. They won't let the jumper down.

Bye before the week of the finals? This year has been a very unique year, haven't had a bye during the season, it's taken its toll. It will freshen some players up, give some niggling injuries time to clear up. Some have had injections in knees etc, to help the rehab. Sometimes a week off isn't good, as it interrupts momentum, but we've found our game. A week off will be good for us. A bye before the finals? It probably helps the quality of football. If there was a bye before the finals, you'd probably get a higher quality finals series.

You can listen to a podcast of the show later this afternoon, which includes an interview with Trey Mooney on the CRRL Cup Grand Final, here: https://www.abc.net.au/radio/canberra/p ... d/12682146

Jimmys not thinking clearly.

His best case scenario is Raiders win/Parra lose.

That has us finishing 4th.

That's a meeting with Penrith there Jimmy..

We can't avoid Penrith with your best case scenario.

In normal years yes. Although if we happen to move into 4th they might move it due to capacity.

Yes.

If for example teams 1&2 win there first final and earn a week off..the beaten sides..3&4 would play home elimation finals in week 2.

I think last night's result means our best chance this year comes with a Parra loss. We can beat any team on our day but I would prefer not to have to face Penrith/Roosters in week 2 of the finals.

Hoping too avoid them week 2 mate, would love to play them week one with 2nd chance, I’d say that’s best case scenario wouldn’t you?

Yep. The bookies odds suggest otherwise but I don't think the two games are independent events. I think the 2nd game is a coin toss if we lose.

So we won which ruined my prediction. We can say that the Tigers were definitely up for the game. It's impossible to know what may have happened had we lost, but it is certainly plausible that Parra would have lost too.
