Site update and avatars

Post by greeneyed »

Hi all...

Nacho has been doing a site update tonight and fixing an issue involving the site security certificates. One of the issues has been certain images uploading insecurely from other sites. We were down for a short period, but we're back up and running now.

One consequence of tonight's update is that your avatar may now be missing... if so, you need to upload a new version... maybe try a new avatar!

If not... you've got nothing to worry about!

Thanks to nacho again for all the work he does for the site. He does an amazing job!

Thanks for the upgrade Nacho!

One small issue I noticed is the breadcrumbs up the top seem to have been eaten.

Yep, sheesh, still working on it now guys sorry.

The Forum has been updated above/beyond the themes we used.

Breadcrumbs are back, but (butt?) ugly, still working on it.

Please let me know any issues in this thread, I'll fix it all up <3

It's super important to "upload" your avatars guys.

That keeps the SSL certificate approved on the forum, which lets us post on facebook etc etc

Photobucket links and imgur links cause all sorts of issues

On Apple, they seem to have... or most of them. I’ve let nacho know.

Me too now... but nacho is trying to fix things. The issue is that our security certificate is being compromised at present by images not uploaded directly to the site.

Still working hard on this guys. There are some bugs in the forum software itself that I’m working through.

My target is to get it nailed before kickoff today :)

@nacho.

If I sit still long enough will Wendy magically reappear or do I need to be more active ?

Instead of inactive, which I am right now.

Cheers PJ.

Hey nacho, I’ve noticed on the website (not Tapatalk), that the “unread posts” button almost never works anymore due to “high forum load” or something like that

Is that getting addressed in this update? It’s a bit frustrating

Hi guys

Unread Posts load issue is now resolved.

Sorry PJ I'm not sure who Wendy is but if that's your avatar you'll need to re-upload it to the forum yes, sorry about that.

Lastly on the smilies issue, it appears we had some sort of extra smilies pack which is no longer on our disk, I'll see if I can find a backup via the hosting provider.

Failing that, anyone recognise the pack in this list? https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styles/smilies-13

Everyone send lots of love to Zim, smilies/emojis are back

I have also uploaded an old archive of avatars, so most avatars will be back, but if they're out of date, I apologise :)

It's "missing" for me Fui, https://thegh.com.au/forum/download/fil ... 562223.png

The version in your control panel is cached for you locally; so only you can see it.

Jump into your control panel, save the avatar to your desktop, and reupload it, that'll fix it up mate

Hey I just tried this, and got an error message that it must be between 0 and 39 KiB?

The current max is listed as 39.00 KiB in the UI so I'm assuming his gif is larger. 39 is a pretty small size.
