That's not good Wattanobi..

Hope all is well.

A quick reflection;

I feel I like Australia, and our way of doing things a bit more tonight.

Out for dinner with the family, my local member rang to ask about how the business was getting on, and if she could help with a couple of issues we're dealing with in relation to COVID. For a start, that blows me a bit away ... pretty proactive stuff from someone who I imagine has plenty on her plate.

Following that, Kevin Rudd, who was dining with his wife at the table next to us and blatantly listening in to the family chatter, pulled his chair over, stole some truffle fries, and chatted amicably for a quarter of an hour while his wife disappeared off somewhere.

I really don't think there are terribly many countires in the world where that kind of thing happens terribly much, and it makes me feel good about the place.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Taking pity on me on the way out, I guess.

No! I like living in a country where the former PM swipes your truffle fries and chats about local real estate. Rdminds me why I like the place.

Mrs Fui and her family all do amazing lasagne. Her Nonna is the real deal from Italy. They all share the same thing. They tell you the recipe for the basic part of the lasagne, but they don’t tell you what they do to take it to the next level.

Sorry, I know that doesn’t help

Anyone have some good advice on a digital heads up display speedo for my car ?

Good brand, not too much info on windscreen while driving..just speed.

I was looking at getting one, I don't know why..just because.

Are they any good ?

I'm guessing I can find somewhere to buy and let them install.

Supercheap have these ones https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca ... 25173.html
I was looking at a GPS one a while back, but we're looking to buy a Seltos in a few months, which has all that in it. So we thought there's no point getting anything just yet

I've been doing a fair bit of browsing Fui. The super cheap auto product is an option. But the reviews aren't great. The biggest gripe is they're inaccurate. 13% diff is one case.

If it's not accurate your wasting your time eh ?

There's Jaycar, Dick Smith, Supercheap, Autobarn..the list is endless. And prices range from $50-$250.

thanks Fui..

Anybody else ?

Feeling a bit flat today. Been feeling it for a while actually. I've been working in this industry/area for going on 11 years now, and its a joke of an area. Anyway, an opportunity arose for me to branch out and use my knowledge across other areas. I thought it'd be great, I'd get out of this bubble I've been in, and get to see how other areas work.

8 months into the new gig, a restructure happened, and I've found myself supporting the area I tried to get out of. It was ok at first, but over the last month its started to wear on me.

I know I should be grateful at this time that I have work etc, but that doesn't help the feeling that I've spent about two of those 11 years trying to get out and develop my skillset to help me move out, and when I finally do, Im back in again.
