Lafai for CHN swap mentioned on St Merge forum.
Re: Corey Harawira-Naera reportedly on the Raiders radar
How about Cotric for CHN?..........You can ban me for even suggesting thatsprintman wrote:Lafai for CHN swap mentioned on St Merge forum.
Re: Corey Harawira-Naera reportedly on the Raiders radar
Dragons can offer their whole team up for a player swap but CHN has to want to go to Dragons. Maybe he doesn't want to go to another team that won't play finals football for years. I reckon we are a very very good chance of landing him and I have a feeling we have been talking to him since Bateman made up his mind he was going back home.

I agree... Rickys response was interesting when presented with CHNs name. Along the lines of "we've been talking to a number of players, when something is confirmed I'll tell you." Probably a done deal!

um, x3 for me. Intemperate views are available to anyone. But I reckon that blokes forgetting that they are only half the world, and that they don't own it, can just suffer the consequences of their own pathetic insignificance.Ruben Daley wrote: ↑July 15, 2020, 7:07 pmx 2 to all this.Cranky Old Man wrote: ↑July 15, 2020, 5:39 pm May I suggest that if the Okunbor and CNH events had taken place six months apart we would not be having this conversation now.

Imagine the dragons thinking Lafai is genuine currency in a swap with CHN...

x4. Her vantage point was entirely justifiable, and one I would agree with based on the original reporting. There doesn't seem to be any straight story on CNH.Lui_Bon wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 12:29 amum, x3 for me. Intemperate views are available to anyone. I feel it will come down to whether he wants to live in Canberra or not. I suspect no, just a gut feeling. We'll see. When's the last time we got a player who several clubs were after...?

Based off what exactly?? The dragons, warriors and Bulldogs being interested??? HA.

Ummm pretty much all of our recruitment in recent history has been players that several clubs were after....Canberra Milk wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 9:41 am I feel it will come down to whether he wants to live in Canberra or not. Re: Corey Harawira-Naera reportedly on the Raiders radar
And again it kinda speaks volumes that not a single top club is interested in signing this bloke. If he was as good as all of you bang on about then you could bet your bottom the roosters, storm, rabbits etc etc would be banging down the door to sign him, but they aren't. Speaks volumes, it really does. They probably haven't heard of him either

Re: Corey Harawira-Naera reportedly on the Raiders radar
Not much bargaining power for Dragons there given Lafai is off contract this year. Dogs can sign him for next year based on his current reserve grade status.julian87 wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 7:36 amThat’s hilarious if true.Raiders666 wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 7:29 amThey are on the same money apparantlyCoastalraider wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 7:23 am Imagine the dragons thinking Lafai is genuine currency in a swap with CHN...

Lets pretend the Salary Cap doesn't exist right?GMGT wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 9:58 am And again it kinda speaks volumes that not a single top club is interested in signing this bloke. Just because your football knowledge is akin to what could be written on a post-it note, don't assume everyone else suffers from the same problem.

Won't happen though.
Re: Corey Harawira-Naera reportedly on the Raiders radar
let's just pretend the raiders, warriors and Bulldogs are the only teams without a salary cap then should we? You actually know diddley squat about my football knowledge so I suggest you shut the hell up and sit down for a cuppa. Thank you for your cooperation.GreenMachine wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 10:49 amLets pretend the Salary Cap doesn't exist right?GMGT wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 9:58 am And again it kinda speaks volumes that not a single top club is interested in signing this bloke. Re: Corey Harawira-Naera reportedly on the Raiders radar
And when have a team like the roosters ever had a problem signing a player they want??? Go figure. The salary cap doesn't actually apply to some teams. But your very limited NRL experience has you believing that it is a completely even playing field

Re: Corey Harawira-Naera reportedly on the Raiders radar
Is is so hard to figure out that the Raiders wouldn't have been considering CHN either if we still had Bateman (good backrower) to go with Young (up and coming option)?
We are only looking at him because we are in a code red injury crisis, beyond even any other of the top teams. So it stands to reason that other teams are not looking at him because they haven't lost star edge players. Only forward Roosters have lost long term are a middle + a hooker utility. Why would they be going hard at an image tricky edge forward?
That doesn't mean he isn't a player of some standing. He's not an out and out star- but he has played 3 tests for Kiwis. It's not like the Kiwi's are light on for forwards. Does that make him a legend of the game? No, but he's a player with some legit achievements and recognition by most fans who watch a cross section of games or enjoy international footy.

We also have a $120,000 in salary cap exemption which will go to waste if we don't sign an edge in the few weeks.BadnMean wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 12:03 pm Is is so hard to figure out that the Raiders wouldn't have been considering CHN either if we still had Bateman (good backrower) to go with Young (up and coming option)?

If the Raiders are an option for CHN surely..surely..we are front runners for his signature.
We have the funds, CHN needs to play footy and we need bodies.
win..win..win..

I believe CHN has a meeting tommorrow with Mrs Anderson and Mr Hill at Dogs HQ. And the vibe is he'll(CHN) tell them he wants out.Coastalraider wrote: ↑July 16, 2020, 3:47 pmAnd if we throw in Scott to sweeten the deal.... they may not need cotric???
The next step is weighing up his options. James Hooper on NRL360 said StGeorge, Warriors and Raiders were all interested.
If CHNs ducks are all in a row he's very keen to be GREEN !!
