At this point my aversion to Hudson Young spending 80 on the edge is being trumped by our lack of punch in the middle. I hope Tapine is fit.
Rapana is all effort at the moment but he needs to be more composed.

Give me one of these. Except switch Oldfield and Cotric.

And Horsburgh looks cooked, Soliola should still be there.

Getting to do or die here. We lose this we can kiss top 4 and therefore premiership adios.

We'll have a big swing in travel benefits for the rest of the year. Expecting that to start with a comfortable win here.

Is it a huge swing? We’ve still got more away games to finish up the season and we’ll be going to Qld now.

Cotric to centre. Hopefully turns out better than last year when he played there against the Dragons. :doubt:

It certainly can't hurt. I'll expect us to start grabbing some of those games that are there for the taking in the final quarter.

My memory needs refreshing. What was the squad changed needed in 2017 that didn't occur?

Boyd and Paulo come to mind, especially when Paulo decided to become a half back half way through the season. Austin defence reads should have seen him play a couple games in Mounties.

What's happened to Bailey Simonsson this year? Looks like he's regressed.

Oldy definitely for Scott in a straight swap next week - at least he can make a break, has pace, good in the air and less defensive lapses and mistakes

Does anyone know the extent of Horse's injury?

We need more than a scratchy, clunky win this week.

We need the sort of convincing win that can reassure us that at our best we are a contender.

I like this backline and side with the exception of the exclusion of Sia. I thought he was good last night and I would start with him. Sutton has been good from the bench so I would have him in the 15 and Scott given some time out.

16. Guler
17. Soliola

Far more likely to see Stuart pick Simo than Oldy though. And I really think Stuart is too stubborn to bin Scott. I watched him pick Matt Allwood at right centre for 11 weeks...

Ryan Sutton eyes starting spot as Canberra Raiders eye 'drastic' NRL turnaround

Ryan Sutton has declared he is ready to step into the lock role, should Corey Horsburgh (foot) be ruled out, as the Canberra Raiders go in search of a "drastic" change to reignite their season.

"I'm working as hard as I can. If the position is there, I'm going to put my hand up," Sutton said. "It's not ideal for Corey but we're all in this together. We're all going to rally around each other now and make sure we don't get our heads down.

Dragons played pretty well vs the Roosters. We will need to be ‘on’.

I’d like to see more pace in our middles. We look slow across the ground. Papalii has been great but I feel he looks tired. Maybe Stuart might look to rotate him a bit earlier or even start him from the bench like late last year.

If we can get Tapine back on deck, he'd raise our average speed in the middle- he's our most athletic middle by a fair way. Eventually if Bateman comes back then Young to the middle too takes it up to a respectably speedy middle.

Apparently Hudson Young doused himself in cold water to pass the covid
test.
Raiders teammate Hudson Young encountered a hiccup on the way into the stadium.

After failing his first temperature test under the COVID-19 protocols he drenched himself in cold water to ensure he passed the second time.
https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/06/28/sol ... led-night/

It wouldn't suprise me if he gets suspended.

I'd think trying to compromise a covid 19 test would be frowned upon.

Although the media doesn't seem fussed yet.

Lots of players have been failing, they’re just a bit hot and needed to cool down a bit.
