ISC to no longer provide rugby league gear after 2020

Post by Bay53 »

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that ISC are pulling out of Rugby League after this season. They have been the provider of the Raiders gear for as long as I have been in Canberra.

Is obviously a lost sponsorship which isn’t good but I personally think some other suppliers have much better supporter gear than ISC.

$8 million dollars.

That’s about 7 jerseys at these days prices.

ISC to no longer provide rugby league gear after 2020

What would our options be? I’m assuming we’d just go out to tender for a new supplier.

I’m reminded of this guy Luke Westcott. He was selling Jerseys on EBay, and was getting a lot of requests for African jerseys, particularly South Sudan. When he tried to import them, he found out they didn’t actually have an official jersey, so he got some manufacturing mates to design one.

From there, he’s gone on to design jerseys for a range of African nations

I dunno what point I was trying to make... let’s get this guy to make our Jerseys

Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

Let's give him a go. His designs have some nice character. Good cause too.

Personally I like the Canterbury gear that some teams have and the NSW Origin and Kangaroos use. Qld used to always have CCC too but seem to have changed to ISC.

As an Essendon fan I have noticed they have moved to Under Armour this year. I don’t think this years gear is that great but I normally really like their gear especially for golf.

Having said that I don’t think you can beat the old favourites of Nike, Adidas and Puma.

I’d really like Adidas! (Personal favour of mine). However that’s unrealistic.
Maybe CCC

Unfortunately I had to get Sitili Toupanua to model the Raiders outfit. But luckily the green balaclava makes it impossible to recognise its him.

I'm confident that the Raiders will have jerseys in 2021 and beyond.

I agree GE, but not like this, their shorts are twice the length of every other team and the rest of the gear is ho hum

Surely it can't be that hard to put a brand on a green jersey with white, blue and gold bands around the arms!

I really hope it isn’t Classic. Their current gear looks cheap and nasty. Retro stuff is great, modern, not so much.
Bring back Puma and the bottle green strip!

Agreed on Classic being a massive nope.

It’s a tired old rugby brand which doesn’t work in the current league world. I’m a massive fan of the simpler the better in jerseys and merch but Canterbury suck. Everything looks like a 1998 rugby union piece.

I can’t speak for the quality of their stuff but the club should have a look at O’Neills who’s jerseys are significantly cheaper for the average punter. $130 when new. Panthers 2020 jerseys are now under $100.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.
