Broncos will probably win the next 4 weeks, maybe 3-1. All will be glossed over.

South Sydney Rabbitohs on the field... and now the Penrith Panthers. The Panthers are the "home" team at Kogarah.

Rabbitohs kick off, we are underway in Thursday Night Football.

7th min TRY PANTHERS to Brent Naden in the corner. The bomb went up from Cleary, Kikau bats it back and it goes out wide to the winger. Cleary hits the post from the sideline conversion attempt, and it bounces away. It was a low mis-kick.

Thought it was OK live, but I think the replay shows pretty clearly he stayed in.

24th min Great try saver from the Rabbitohs stops a second try to Brent Naden. He loses the ball and grounds it short, in the corner.

I still can’t believe Souths tried playing Cam Murray on an edge. He’s deadset their crown jewel when he’s a lock.

28th min TRY PANTHERS to Stephen Crichton, following a Luai kick. Just able to ground it first. Cleary misses the conversion, not that difficult a shot for him.

36th min Try to the Rabbitohs correctly denied, Alex Johnston pass back inside is well forward.

Penrith Panthers 8
South Sydney Rabbitohs 0

Rabbitohs receive two penalties in the red zone in the final minutes of the half, and they force a line drop out... but they cannot score.

50th min TRY RABBITOHS to Bayley Sironen, great inside pass from Reynolds and he goes straight down the middle! He's the son of Paul and it is his first try in the NRL! Reynolds converts from close to the posts. The Panthers were dominant for the opening 20 or 30 minutes, but the statistics have really turned.

60th min TRY PANTHERS to Dylan Edwards. The Panthers just denied a try for obstruction from Kikau, but on this set, the Rabbitohs are caught short on their left edge. Awful conversion attempt from Cleary, it was another mis-kick. No goal.

69th min James Roberts sin binned for a professional foul. It is a fair call.

PENALTY GOAL PANTHERS to Nathan Cleary. That is the worst successful goal you will ever see! Cleary has mis-kicked just about every goal attempt.

77th min Latrell Mitchell sent to the sin bin. He made a sensational tackle on Naden to save a try, but he's pulled Naden's leg after the tackle was complete. That's the game.

TRY PANTHERS to Nathan Cleary. The Rabbitohs have 11 men and they can't stop the try. Converted Cleary, but he nearly missed that one too!

MATCH REPORT: Cleary in control as Panthers trump Rabbitohs

The game management of Nathan Cleary and a weaving try scored by Dylan Edwards propelled the Panthers to a 20-12 win over the Rabbitohs on Thursday night.

Aside from an uncharacteristic night with the boot (2 from 5), Cleary moved his team around the park as you would expect from someone with far more than his 84 games of NRL experience.

I stopped bothering with multis a few years back. Very difficult to get right, particularly with NRL.

I was quite surprised 8th placed Souths were favorites over 3rd place Panthers. Too much wind blown up the Bunnies butts after last week beating Warriors. Also some misguided concept that Latrell would play 2 good games in a row.

I'm a very low level gambler - for example this week my $5 bet is Bulldogs with the 4.5 start at $1.90. Not a huge return but I am 5 from 6 this year.
