We’ll make the eight, but that’s about it
Re: 2020 Rd 6 V Sea Eagles: Game Day
I've given up on us winning I just hope we don't get absolutely smashed in the second half

Josh needs to give early ball or attack the ruck by engaging NOT ANYTHING IN BETWEEN. He’s causing plenty of confusion for our own players and their timing

Re: 2020 Rd 6 V Sea Eagles: Game Day
They have 60% of the ball, 4 to 2 penalties, two of them utter garbage (both of them because their players just fell over), nrl.com doesn't show the number of six agains but it must be insanely one way yet they have been all over us...
Re: 2020 Rd 6 V Sea Eagles: Game Day
Forward pack has been fine.
I think our tactics are wrong. The new rules make it harder to really get into a defensive battle. We are trying to arm wrestle but we keep giving away set restarts
Something for stick to think about. Under last year's rules I think we would be going much better because we would be turning manly over but it's not working here.

The last two games have seen better second halves.
This is clunky, unenergised stuff.
Clearly winning forward battle; pinning them but offering nothing in attack and then WAP on Scott side D.
40 mins to show something.

The love fest for "turbo" and Manly will be hard to listen to.
I hate Manly.

One could argue that we still trying to find our combinations but we look like a park footy team.
2019 raiders Grand Finalist (that was our chance to win even though we got robbed!
2020 wont make the 8 -back to usual meh

What the **** is going on out there?
Please someone help me understand...
Our attack is abysmal...
We passively watch Brendon Elliot on the left and Trobojevic on the right...
Like what the ****?
Hodgo needs to release the ball earlier.
The ref has been utter ****, but we’re not helping ourselves

Useless attack and our star centre responsible for both manly tries.
What a game.
What a game.

Lmfao at all the **** coconuts on here carrying on like **** school girls and saying we won't win anything this year based off one half of footy in a game that isn't even over. We are down by TWO TRIES against one of the competition heavy weights. There are some absolute pretenders of fans on this site. You call our team pretenders but really you are a pretender and not a true fan.
On another note,
I haven't said a bad word about curtis scott so far since he got here, but holy ****. His defence and defensive reads are well and truly not up to standard. I think it is fair to say he is almost single handedly killing us.
Now **** off!!!!

Scott tackled Turbo. Cotric and Williams didn't read it at all.
Seriously!

Re: 2020 Rd 6 V Sea Eagles: Game Day
If we can score first in the second half, I think we’ll be a very good shout to win
But it will also need to be coupled with considerably better football

Re: 2020 Rd 6 V Sea Eagles: Game Day
I feel like off the field we're putting too much work into defence and not enough into attack.... and even that now is being blown up by a liability at centre
Just not enough cohesion and intent

The whole right edge in defence is an
Absolute rabble. They will continue to go there so we’ll need 20+ points to win.

We’ve just got to hang in there until 60 minute mark, Manly will start to tire and hopefully Jack and Papa can wrangle us some points for a sloppy win

Re: 2020 Rd 6 V Sea Eagles: Game Day
What we are seeing on the field is more or less what stick wants. It's for example clearly been a tactic to run the ball on the last close to the line to get into a war of attrition. It's safer than giving up a 7 tackle set. This was a tactic used to great success by the roosters for many years.
But when a ref can just say 6 to go it takes some of the sense out of the tactic.
Anyway hopefully we can get over the top of them next half

I have so little confidence in this attack anymore. So reminiscent of the Furner days. Only redeeming feature is that our defence is stronger.

2019 will just be like 2016. Flash in the pan. Back to being nothing special, just a filler in the competition.

I don't recognise this team......what I DO recognise is the NRL's determined desire to have all Sydney finals. Manly and Roosters protected species.

Reminds me of the game we played against them when Turbo got injured..
We thought we’d win easy, instead we got done..
Our attack is so crappy atm and our mentality is nowhere to be seen.

Re: 2020 Rd 6 V Sea Eagles: Game Day
Hate games when one side loses a few players straight up. The refs (on purpose or not) seem to favour the depleted side.
Got to do something about these 6 again calls (winning them and losing them!) Nd sort out that bloody right edge!

The refs were told to crack down on slowing down the play. I must have missed the first advice that excluded Manly.
How have the touchies missed some of those forward passes out of dummy half?
