Thud. Back to earth boys
You don’t win nrl games showing up with that sort of intensity in defence
That’s not the standard this group has set. We would have gotten it from most teams tonight

Re: 2020 Rd 4 V Knights: Game Day
If we show up and do the same anytime soon I'll be worried but for now the team has earned the benefit of the doubt.

They deserved the win 100%
You learn more from a loss, plus being dominated in the forwards.
We will be ready next week.

We were awful but we fought our way back. Lots to improve especially in the forwards

Well done Tapine, throw a punch when we have no backup edge backrowers and you have a bad record at the judiciary. That won't be an issue at all. Numbskull.

I knew this was a danger game - we have read too much press, this is good for us, shows we have regressed as last year a team didn't put 34 points on us. Our performance against Melbourne was littered with errors, same today. Rapana needs to get in the side. Lui is not adding much. Scott is sub-par and I did point out all the breaks Melbourne made down his side of the field. Tapine clearly has a control / temper issue as evidenced at the end. Hope he doesn't get cited. Once Wighton went off we weren't coming back. We should not be premiership favourites, we cannot handle it.

Re: 2020 Rd 4 V Knights: Game Day
Terrible game from the raiders, but must credit the knights. They had a good game plan, their forwards were dominant, Pearce and Ponga very good. Best made Scott his ***** today.
Positives for us is that we never gave up, and Williams still looks good. Besides that, pretty garbage performance. I saw Hodgson throw some shocking passes today. Hope we can regroup and show a huge improvement on this next week.

Re: 2020 Rd 4 V Knights: Game Day
The signs were there last week when the Storm had loads of chances in the second half. Too many offloads conceded, half or full breaks in the middle, ineffective tackling. Knights just managed to capitalise on it.
A lot of work needs to be done in the coming week.

True.
Rather cop these harsh lessons early in the season to be honest.

So like the raiders of old.... knights too strong......hope we don’t show up like that next week against the tigers!!!
Hope sticky and Furner really fight to get the home games back to canberr after round 9!! Boys looked lethargic and tired.

We were hunted this week, they had a plan and stuck to it, knights had awesome line speed, and we couldn't match them.
And we were flat. Maybe because Bateman, maybe not..

I was concerned by the amount of metres we gave up. It was there against Melbourne but last week our goal line defence was good enough to stop it. Shows the dangers when we come up against a team with quality long kicking game.

Did well to get that close given the bilge we dished out in the first half but Knights were very good - kinda like we were last week, when all the discussion was around the Storm being bad...
Scott/Cotric defensive edge is going to see some attention after that display. We also need a bit more link play out of CNK - dependable/gutsy/hard-running might not be enough this year.

Far too many errors in the first half in particular. FG footballers should always be expecting the football. I understand the conditions were greasy but some of the drops looked like the players were not expecting the ball. When Jack went off we lost our shape. Disappointing ill-discipline from Tapine at the end.

Not the best performance.
Knights had an 'on' day.
Throughout the season we'll have these kind of days.
It's important they are one offs.
Happy with Cotric tonight.
Sutton available next week.
Maybe best to have Rapana on the left wing??
In my opinion a simple case of it not being our day.
We have next week to correct things.

2020 Rd 4 V Knights: Game Day
Read their own press...again.
Epic thud.
Performance was crap. Right from first set to the last.
Got absolutely humbled in the middle and looked tired out wide. Scott got ‘bested’ by a rookie and Simonsson was showing Lee how he too can do a Lee. Raps back in next week. You have to question why Stuart didn’t play him after last week. Sentimental reason and that doesn’t win you games.
Unfortunately CNK set the standard tonight from first set and we simply lived up to that average standard. 2 tries off scrums is soft soft soft.
Jack kicked out on the full, looked elsewhere and not sure he came back on and was outplayed by Kurt Mann which is embarrassing.
I’m bringing Sutton in for game time as well.
Guler looked ineffective.
Stick’s job is to get them up each week. He failed cause they looked garbage and off the pace for all but probably 10 maybe 15 min.
You don’t need to be playing your best footy now but you need to be consistent and look for ways to win.
Disappointing. Soft D. **** attitude and looked like believed the hype. Poor day out.

He's starting so Soliola can come on as impact. I think Guler has been outplaying both Lui and Sia lately tho...

CNK’s strength is supporting up the middle. Forwards gave nothing to work off. We’re there any offloads? Didn’t feel like it.kris-ko wrote: We also need a bit more link play out of CNK - dependable/gutsy/hard-running might not be enough this year.
Re: 2020 Rd 4 V Knights: Game Day
Not sure what Lui did wrong in some people’s eyes today. 1 missed tackle, no errors and one of the few to wrap up the arms to stop offloads.
Plenty of others who were much much worse than Lui. I’d be focusing on someone like C Scott.

Re: 2020 Rd 4 V Knights: Game Day
One of those nights. 50 50s went against us, but every time we got a break we messed it up with penalties, poor plays, errors. Knights were very good, just completed high and bossed the forward battle, Pearce and Ponga did the rest.
Scott worries me. He doesn't trust Williams inside him when defending. 3 or 4 times he's jumped in when if he just stayed out Williams would have got his man. Knights just exploited that down that side all game.
Only positives are Williams another good game, tried to do it on his own but can't blame him. Havili made a good impact and Papalli is a monster even when he's gassed.
I'd rather the balloon pop now and we have time to fix up rather than in the finals

That is no such strength of his. Something he needs to massively work on stillgangrenous wrote: ↑June 7, 2020, 6:13 pmCNK’s strength is supporting up the middle. Forwards gave nothing to work off. Re: 2020 Rd 4 V Knights: Game Day
Knights outplayed us in pretty much every department in the game. They were quicker off the line in defence, their kick chase was fantastic across the game, they were more disciplined with the footy. Basically they wanted it more.
It was a sham king performance from us from the first set. It looked like we thought it would happen for us without putting the work in and it didn’t.
This team isn’t used to every team in the comp lining them up and coming at them to make their mark but we had better get used to it quickly. We need to bring our best footy every week if we want to be there at the business end of the season.
Also our right edge defence needs to sort it out fast. That’s where all teams are going to come at us now and if they can’t sort it out quickly we are in even more trouble. I’m confident we can but there’s plenty of work to do.
