Re: Greg Inglis signs with Warrington
I have been reminded that Inglis retired, was not medically retired, and his job post football with the Rabbitohs was included in their cap.

I thought so, but I found this article from April last year saying he wasn't able to be medically retired

Re: Greg Inglis signs with Warrington
This story seems to suggest he was being paid the remainder of his $1.5 million contract via a job worth $300,000 a year as a "pathways manager". I suspect he's the best paid "pathways manager" in the NRL... The NRL gave the Rabbitohs $1m salary cap relief, while made them include $900,000 against their cap (I'd interpret it as three years worth of working as a pathways manager). It now appears he's not going to cost their cap anything more from here.

Re: Greg Inglis signs with Warrington
Based on this article they copped 500k which he was already paid and 300k for his job as a pathways manager. The cap impact for this year would only be based on what he was earning over the going rate for his role (who knows what that is).greeneyed wrote: ↑May 20, 2020, 11:26 am This story seems to suggest he was being paid the remainder of his $1.5 million contract via a job worth $300,000 a year as a "pathways manager". So of he's off to Warrington does that mean this "Pathways Manager" job will be up for grabs? Have to update my CV.

Apparently they will keep it open for his return so he can continue to earn the money they owe him. Which shows how legit it is.Northern Raider wrote: ↑May 20, 2020, 7:00 pm So of he's off to Warrington does that mean this "Pathways Manager" job will be up for grabs? Have to update my CV.

Well pathways don't manage themselves. Somebody has to do it while he's over there. I'll take a short term contract.edwahu wrote: ↑May 20, 2020, 7:04 pmApparently they will keep it open for his return so he can continue to earn the money they owe him. With Roberts in rehab the pathways are fairly clean of debris at the moment.Northern Raider wrote:Well pathways don't manage themselves. Somebody has to do it while he's over there.
