Penrith are a side I love to beat.

They are a classy team, getting the points over them is always nice..

They've leaked a huge amount of young talent in the last 12 months. Mansour was in my fantasy team last season - he does not deserve a spot in their top 30. Truly awful.

The biggest question is how well they adjust to life without Maloney. Man he was hot and cold last season - but they certainly rode his form. They improved out of sight when he lost the captaincy role and was allowed to focus on his game. Now he's gone and I wonder where their strike comes from. Pretty ordinary 3/4 line these days.

Can jag a win on their day but can't see them going deep or troubling the top teams

I have been very impressed with the preparing the panthers series of videos they have released on Twitter.

Has anyone else been watching them?

To answer your question. I watched last seasons Panthers videos starring Tyrone May, Tyrone Phillips and Liam Coleman.

I on the other hand was not impressed.

Wow, 300 hours is a seriously large amount of community service. Hopefully sends a clear message to anybody else who thinks this type of thing is OK to do.

Cleary, May facing two-match ban for being untruthful to Integrity Unit

Nathan Cleary and Tyrone May

The National Rugby League (NRL) has issued Penrith player Nathan Cleary with a further amended breach notice.

The notice sets out additional matters to which Cleary has been asked to respond. The additional matters relate to his co-operation with the NRL Integrity Unit. The further amended notice proposes a fine of $30,000 and a two-match suspension, which would be served at the resumption of the NRL competition.

Fellow Penrith player, Tyrone May, has also been issued with a breach notice relating to the same matter and his co-operation with the NRL’s investigation. The notice proposes a $15,000 fine and a two-match suspension.

The notices allege that the players were untruthful in relation to material matters and the proposed sanctions reflect the seriousness of those allegations.

Both Players will now have an opportunity to respond to the matters alleged in Breach Notices before a final determination is made.

Penrith Panthers accept two-match bans for Nathan Cleary and Tyrone May

Panthers duo Nathan Cleary and Tyrone May have accepted two-match bans after being found to have been untruthful to the NRL Integrity Unit.

Panthers Group CEO Brian Fletcher has issued the following statement:

“Our club has a responsibility to our members, our corporate partners, our community and the game as a whole to uphold certain standards of behaviour.

“When a player or staff member falls short of those standards, as has been the case in this instance, there must be meaningful consequences.

“To that end Panthers supports the sanctions proposed by the NRL in relation to Nathan Cleary and Tyrone May.

“Both players have this morning expressed sincere remorse for their actions and confirmed to the club they will accept the proposed sanctions.

“The club will continue to provide Nathan and Tyrone with the support they require as the team prepares for the recommencement of the 2020 NRL season.

“We consider the matter finalised at this point and the club will be making no further comment.”

Police re-investigate Penrith Panthers Nathan Cleary as more COVID lies exposed

NSW police will investigate whether Penrith star Nathan Cleary lied about a possible social distancing breach that resulted in a severe sanction by the NRL.

“There will be some further inquiries made into that over the coming days and if it’s appropriate to take action against that person, that will occur,” NSW deputy police commissioner Gary Worboys said.

Edwards and Koroisau out for several weeks. Big if they're both still out when we play them in 3 weeks.

Koroisau has been the catalyst for Panthers form this year. Last year they had Egan and Katoa stinking it up at dummy half and the rest of the team suffered. He's turned that around.

Penrith Panthers star Brent Naden tested positive to cocaine on grand final day

Penrith Panthers star Brent Naden has been provisionally suspended after returning a positive test to a recreational drug after a test on the night of the grand final.

The 24-year-old has endured a bumpy road over the last month. After the Panthers’ grand final loss to the Storm he approached the club to reveal he had been suffering personal issues and he entered himself into a rehabilitation program.

Unfortunately Naden seems to lack the required level of self discipline to be an NRL footballer.

He’s certainly faced a number of challenges not of his own making. But he needs to take a leaf out of some other Indigenous players books.

So it sounds like he went into Grand Final day with cocaine in his system?

Wouldn't have expected ASADA to be there that evening!

Smart move.

My understanding is cocaine doesn't stay in the system that long which would mean he would have been doing lines very close to the game.
