Possible snow - pah, they rarely get that prediction right.
And to all the people who doubted me, hello to them as well. - Mark Webber, Raiders Ballboy and Unluckiest F1 Driver Ever

I'm attacking in the right way, instead of just...attacking in the general direction. - Max Aaron (also eerily apropos for the Green Machine)

**** me - 20 years. Where does time go? Remember it like it was yesterday.

Was absolutely freezing at the ground when we got there, but from memory got better as the game went on. The match itself felt like novelty.

It's blizzard like conditions at Bruce... it is remarkable, but there are people sitting out there in it, under umbrellas. Victor the Viking has one too! He at least looks happy. It is presently less than 2C. Never has it been so cold at a Raiders game.

Laurie Daley playing at lock for the Raiders, with the Super Macs in the halves today. The teams making their final preparations in the sheds now. Assistant Glen Lazarus pumping up the Green Machine. Here come the teams! The snow flurries everywhere. The field quite white. It was actually heavier during reserve grade.

We have kick off!

1st min Lesley Vainikolo makes a big run down the sideline, and he's slid out of bounds on the slush. Luckily the Raiders get a penalty.

5th min TRY TIGERS to Kevin McGuiness, following a Craig Field kick to the in goal. Mullins and Vainikolo couldn't get there in time. Joel Caine converts from close to the posts. That's not a great start for the Raiders.

It'd be good if Fletcher stopped talking.
Ginnane is alright. Anasta ok but Fletcher is a punish.

7th min Vainikolo error in the Raiders' own half. It'll probably be one of those games... Now Field has forced another line drop out, Mullins forced to kick the ball dead.

9th min Thankfully, the Tigers make an error... Hopoate. And now the Tigers are penalised to boot. Lying in the ruck.

Wiki and Morgan look like they might make an early entry to the field. Craig Field is dominating. It is remarkable... there are still people sitting in the inner bowl!

15th min TRY RAIDERS to Sean Rutgerson. Good tackle from the Raiders, Williamson and Morgan, the Tigers drop the ball and Rutgerson just pounces! It all comes from a good Laurie Daley kick to the in goal and it pulls up in the snow... and the video referee says... TRY! Luke Williamson gets the goal from close to the posts.

19th min TRY RAIDERS to Greg Wolfgramm! Laurie Daley is at it again! He kicks to the corner, the ball stops dead in the snow, the Tigers mishandle in the in goal... and Wolfgramm dives on it! Luke Williamson on the sideline... and he shanks the conversion attempt badly.

Playing at lock Laurie is calling all the shots.
Which means the half and 5/8 are effectively both running halves.

22nd min Georgallis throws an obvious forward pass from dummy half. The Tigers dominated in the early stages, but now they're making error after error.

27th min TRY RAIDERS to Lesley Vainikolo! He dives for the line and leaves a whole pile of snow in his wake. Slides 10 metres! Good attack on the left edge. Luke Williamson on the sideline... and the the ball is to the right of the posts.

34th min TRY RAIDERS to Brett Mullins in the corner! Andrew McFadden makes a great run, quick play the ball and the offload from Swann is brilliant to set up the try! After the Tigers were in control early, since then it has been all the Raiders. Luke Williamson misses the conversion from the sideline. Hits the cross bar and bounces away!
