The NSWRL match centre says the score was 32-30, Mounties say the score was 42-30, and the NSWRL.com.au match report says 44-30. Pretty sure Mounties won though!
That NSWRL match centre system is repeatedly wrong...

The Warriors flew home after playing Newcastle so no idea what that means for the Mounties next week

In the highlights it looked like Smith-Shields was at fullback, Murchie in the forwards. Hoping to get a TV game at some point to watch how he goes.

Re: 2020 Mounties
Official score finished at 44-30... Mounties told us on Facebook and Twitter the correct score was 42-30. No word from the NSWRL about how they intend to respond to the coronavirus. It's certain Mounties can't play in New Zealand and the Warriors can't play here.
Re: 2020 Mounties
Valemei and Collins with some pretty good attacking stats. Murchie's stats are horrible.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.
Re: 2020 Mounties
There is no doubt the Warriors will be out of the NSW cup. I would be very surprised if these comps continued. The key for the NRL is the broadcast rights. I know some NSW Cup games are televised, but it is not the same issue. You also can’t take all the precautions with the full time professional players and then have them playing against part time players who can’t be quarantined from the rest of society.greeneyed wrote: ↑March 16, 2020, 5:06 pm Official score finished at 44-30... AFL secondary comps cancelled to at least 31 May.

The NSW Rugby League will meet with their clubs on Wednesday to discuss the future of their competitions, including the Canterbury Cup and Ron Massey Cup that will proceed this weekend in empty stadiums and without overseas teams New Zealand and Fijian newcomers the Kaiviti Silktails because of travel bans.

Only thing I’ve seen in reports... looks like games may be played behind closed gates for this weekend... but not the Warriors V Mounties game.

Grassroots footy, second-tier competitions and junior representative fixtures are expected to be suspended due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Officials at both the NSWRL and QRL are meeting on Tuesday to discuss contingency plans around their state-based and lower tier competitions, with the prospect of six to 10-week hiatuses raised. No official call has been made by either body, but the suspension of all bar top-level rugby league until at least May is being reluctantly planned for.
The NSWRL will make a final decision on Wednesday morning. Shortened seasons in both second-tier competitions, as well as junior representative leagues including Harold Matthews and SG Ball, remain an option for later in the year

NSWRL suspends all competitions over COVID-19
A special meeting of the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) Board has agreed to postpone all Community Rugby League until at least 1 May 2020, effective immediately, while all major NSWRL competitions have been suspended until 31 May in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Community Rugby League, which involves more than 100,000 grassroots players across NSW, from Under 6s to open age, was due to kick-off on 4 April, but will now be delayed until at least 1 May.
NSWRL’s 13 major competitions, most of which started last weekend, with the exception of junior representative competitions which kicked off in February, have been suspended until 31 May. The later date will allow teams to train and prepare earlier in May if Community Rugby League is cleared to resume.
In relation to the Canterbury Cup NSW, the NSWRL has decided that given the complexity of travel restrictions, the Warriors should not participate for the rest of the season.

Community rugby league postponed
The National Rugby League (NRL), in partnership with State governing bodies, has postponed community rugby league in Australia until at least the first weekend of May.
The postponement includes all junior and senior community club rugby league competitions, training, gala days and future League Stars programs.
NRL Head of Football – Participation, Pathways and Game Development, Luke Ellis said the decision to suspend community club rugby league immediately was made after consultation with the State governing bodies to assist in slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
“Community rugby league will be postponed until at least the first weekend of May, that includes playing games and training,’’ he said.
“The decision to pause community rugby League in Australia was not taken lightly and is simply about the NRL and State governing bodies, as custodians of rugby league, putting extra-conservative measures in place to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and wellbeing of our participants,” Ellis said.
“Community rugby league doesn’t have the ability to enforce the same social distancing procedures as the elite game. That’s why, in partnership with our state bodies, we have chosen to err on the side of caution.”
The NRL will continue to meet with state governing bodies in relation to community rugby league and will review today’s announcement based on government health departments and experts.
Mr Ellis added the NRL and state leagues remained committed to growing community rugby league participation and would keep all participants informed of future developments.
“Community rugby league is the foundation of our game. We are committed to seeing it flourish. I understand some participants will be disappointed with the decision, but community health must come first.”
“We look forward to our community rugby league participants returning to the game as soon as expert advice deems it appropriate.”

2020 season cancelled for Canberra Raiders NSW Cup affiliate, Mounties
The National Rugby League (NRL), along with New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL), Queensland Rugby League (QRL) and the Affiliated States, has announced the cancellation of a number of male and female competitions, tournaments and national representative programs.
The uncertain and unprecedented nature of the COVID-19 pandemic made the scheduling of these fixtures untenable in 2020.
NRL Head of Football – Participation, Pathways and Game Development Luke Ellis said the decision was unfortunate but necessary under the circumstances.
“I know this will be a disappointing outcome for those involved in these competitions right across Australia, but the health and safety of those involved with rugby league must always come first,” Mr Ellis said.
“It was essential for us to at least give the players, clubs and staff some certainty going forward so they can focus on themselves and their families during this uncertain time.”
NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said: “It is devastating for everyone involved but the advice has changed dramatically since we suspended these competitions nine days ago.”
“We have an obligation to be part of the solution for this pandemic, both for the Rugby League community and also for the community more generally. This view was uppermost in the minds of the Board.”
QRL Managing Director Rob Moore said: “We understand the outcome is a heartbreaking one for the rugby league community, but it’s a call that simply had to be made given the current circumstances.”
“Rugby league is part of the fabric of Queensland, and as such, we have key responsibilities to the wider community as well.
The cancelled competitions include:
National: Harvey Norman Women’s National Championship; National Schoolboys Championships; all Combined Affiliated States representative football
Queensland Rugby League: Intrust Super Cup; BHP Premiership; Hastings Deering Colts; Auswide Bank Mal Meninga Cup
New South Wales Rugby League: Canterbury Cup NSW; Jersey Flegg Cup (Under 20s); UNE SG Ball Cup (Under 18s); Laurie Daley Cup (Under 18s); Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup (Under 18s women); UNE Harold Matthews Cup (Under 16s); Andrew Johns Cup (Under 16s); Women’s Country Championships and Men’s Under 23s Country Championships.
