Re: 2020 NRL Round 1: Teams and Game Day
It's the first match of a season, and it is a sold out Western Sydney Stadium at Parramatta. Parramatta Eels V Canterbury Bulldogs. Both teams on the field now. A ceremony to honour victims of the recent bushfires and those who fought them. We will have live scores... but hopefully you jump in with your own commentary.
Eels kick off, we are underway!

Re: Rugby League 2020
For a game billed as a sell out, there sure are a lot of vacant seats in the upper tiers, especially at the ends.

DWZ not having the best opening game. Dropping balls and pushing passes.

If the Eels think they're top four material, they aren't showing it in this one!

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

66th min TRY EELS to hooker Reed Mahoney off a Mitch Moses kick. Moses converts. This game has been poor, save the opening minutes. Awful opener.
Eels 8-2

MATCH REPORT: Scrappy Eels sneak past Bulldogs in season opener
The Parramatta Eels snuck home 8-2 in the NRL's season opener after a feisty Bulldogs line-up took it to the pre-season darlings with gusto at Western Sydney Stadium on Thursday night, turning the clash into a throwback to the '80s when brutal defence was the currency of the day.

After five or ten minutes... I thought that was going to be a great game. It turned out to be absolutely awful. What a dreadful selection for a season opener.
Re: 2020 NRL Round 1: Teams and Game Day
They remind me of our Raiders team being steered around by McCrone. So inept that the entire game plan revolves around 5 simple hitups (including the back on the inside hitup to Fensom on the 4th) and then a boring bomb to the winger. Completions and building pressure don't mean **** if you don't actually try your hand at anything. They played some really enterprising play at the backend of last year - let them play Pay.Northern Raider wrote:Dogs same as last year. All effort, lacking class
