ACT government not interested in bidding to host NRL Nines in Canberra... while NRL concerned aging Canberra Stadium is not up to hosting the event

The ACT government has rejected the chance to host the NRL Nines, saying it's too expensive and they'll instead put their money on the high-flying Green Machine. While the government felt it was too pricey, it's believed the NRL also harboured concerns about an aging Canberra Stadium's ability to host an event like the Nines.

Can’t see why we shouldn’t beat the Titans with the team we have named. Havilii will go well in this format, so too Starling.

Welcome to our coverage of tonight's NRL Nines from Perth. The Raiders will be playing the Gold Coast at 9:15pm AEDT. It is hot in Perth, currently 35C. The mercury hit 40.6C a couple of hours ago - so the Raiders will no doubt be pleased they are playing when the sun is low.

We will bring you live scores in the Raiders' game, and progress scores and results in other matches.

First up, at 7:05pm we will see the women's match between the New Zealand Warriors and Sydney Roosters. Watch live on Fox League.

Over to the men now... Next up is the Panthers V Roosters. The Panthers are in pink, and they might be too strong for the young Roosters... who have their top squad in Europe for the WCC. The Roosters kick off to start the game.

A total of 500 people at the game

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

There’s more people under the stand then sitting in them, it’s about 35 degrees here with no wind.

It’s bloody hot.
