As long as you pay they(council) don't care.

When I got online to see how much the application fee was it said $110.

When I went in to talk to a human and she had to fill out the application online for me she pinged me $138.83. When I questioned her about the fee she said"administration fees"

Really ? $38.83 admin fees.

I bet you drive a nice car !!

I had identification and rates notice all in my name and she didn't ask for either. AND this was after being told to bring these documents.

Fair dink..I was so close to asking her how much I owed her for the fresh air I breathed while in the building..

Not wanting to rub salt into the wound but I've been granted permission to knock down a eucalyptus behind my garage. It's in good health but too close to my garage. I think we'll cut it down next winter. I quite like it but it overhangs, and drops plenty in my gutters.

They're all a bunch of thieving bastards. ACT Govt promised to abolish stamp duty about 6 or 7 years ago. They've ramped up rates during that period and now they're offering stamp duty concessions to first home buyers only. I don't know if they'll ever get rid of it for everybody?

My boss bought a unit with her sister 10 years ago and recently sold her half out to her sister and had to pay about 4k stamp duty.

I can't mate..it's a massive ironbark, probably 25-30m high. It's not only hanging dangerously over my house but neighbours houses as well. I took photos, showed Cheryl even..

And another thing. She told me they'd send out their own tree guy to inspect the tree in 4-6 weeks.

And I'm "4-6 weeks, is your tree guy still on Christmas holidays?"

Rates in the ACT are reaching ridiculous levels. They also don’t give you a discount for early payment... so I’m stringing it out as long as possible in quarterly payments.

ACT Government has been getting rid of Stamp Duty for 8 years in theory. An $800,000 house in Sydney or Canberra still pay much the same Stamp Duty.

I just got back from the RMS..or..RTA.

Licence renewal, all went smooth. I got the safe driver/good bloke discount. 50% off.

They didn't take my photo, I asked the young lass why and she said she had my photo on file from 5yrs ago and she'd use that on my new licence..

"You haven't aged at all" she said.

Also..

Is there anyone else here who has recently renewed their licence ?

I received a receipt of payment this morning which also doubles as my licence until my real licence(card) arrives in the mail.

The thing is..where it says licence class is says CU. I've dragged out my past 3 licences dating back 10 years and all those say Class C. Now I know C= car, but I'm unsure of U. Is it unrestricted ?
And there's nothing written under"conditions"even though I ticked that I wear glasses.
Is this something new from Service NSW ?

The monster has been pretty quite the past few days, until this morning when she made us all laugh.

On Saturday mornings we all go grocery shopping at Woolies. PJ(driver), MIL(front passenger), Mrs PJ and PJjnr in the back. We park in the disabled space closest to the shop(MIL has a permit). So when we go into Woolies Mrs PJ and PJjnr do our groceries while I walk around with the monster as secruity. I don't crowd her, I stand back and just make sure she's ok..from a distance.

Usually, as was the case today Mrs PJ had our shopping done before the monster found 1st gear. This happens a lot. The monster likes to read labels, she's a label reader. So the wife approaches me for the car keys, she's finished our shopping and is heading for the checkouts and then the car.

The monster is really struggling. We've been hitting this Woolies for years and she continues to get lost. It like she's seeing everything for the very first time..its brutal. Mrs PJ and PJjnr haved packed the shopping in the car and are waiting(in the back seat of course). So the monster has finished, gone through the checkouts and I'm walking her back across the road to the car.

Now here's what always happens...

We reach the car. I hand the monster her walking stick which is in the shopping trolley. She holds onto the car for support and let's herself in.(I'm watching her at all times). When she's in I go grab her shopping in throw it in the back. It's never much..maybe 2 bags. While I'm doing this she's sitting in the car with the car door wide open. She does this for fresh air because I haven't yet started the car and turned the air con on. I return the trolley to its bay, return to car and get in.

And..
PJ- You can close the door you know.
MIL- I'm just getting some fresh air while we wait for Lu and Brad.
+THEYRE BOTH SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT+
PJ- How long do you think we should wait ?
MIL- You can't leave without them so we'll just wait.

My son is non verbal and Mrs PJ was just sitting there quietly...

PJ- So you do know they're both sitting behind you right ?
(she has a look)

It was funny..

And then I said to the monster.."don't worry mum, what just happened here will not leave this car". Your grandson won't tell anyone will he ?

MrsPJ- Until I get on Facebook anyway.

Cheers PJ
