Can't wait to vote for Frank Paul Nu'usuala and Matt Orford.
Re: Canberra Raiders 2010s Team of the Decade
This depends on whether you're voting for the players that contributed the most or those that reached the highest heights.
Take the two players I'm most interested in - Whitehead and Bateman.
Whitehead has been a tremendous player for the club for half a decade and he will have contributed more than most over that decade.
However, in one season, Bateman played to a level beyond anything Whitehead has (only just, to be fair, but I'm just illustrating the point). Who makes the team in that scenario.
Is it the favourite team of the decade or simply the best (see the other argument about including Dugan)?

Re: Canberra Raiders 2010s Team of the Decade
There has been a change in methodology looking at the 2000s team. Wiki only played 11 games at prop for us in the 2000s by my count, he wouldn't have been eligible for that spot under the stricter 2010s rules.

Josh Papalii deserves two jerseys in Canberra Raiders team of the decade

Sometimes life's just not fair. And that's perfectly highlighted by my Canberra Raiders team of the decade. I wanted to have Josh Papalii at prop and also in the second row. But my boss wouldn't let me.
Raiders team of the decade: 1. Jack Wighton, 2. Nick Cotric, 3. Jarrod Croker (c), 4. Joey Leilua, 5. Jordan Rapana, 6. Terry Campese, 7. Aidan Sezer, 8. David Shillington, 9. Josh Hodgson, 10. Brett White, 11. Josh Papalii, 12. Elliott Whitehead, 13. Shaun Fensom. Coach: Ricky Stuart.

NRL: Canberra Raiders Team of the Decade dominated by 2019 Grand Final 17
Nick Campton
While it was tempting to simply select the 2019 grand final squad as Canberra’s team of the decade, there was more to the story of the club in the 2010s than just the end.
1. Josh Dugan 2. Nick Cotric 3. Jarrod Croker 4. Joey Leilua 5. Jordan Rapana 6. Jack Wighton 7. Aidan Sezer 8. Josh Papalii 9. Josh Hodgson 10. David Shillington 11. Elliott Whitehead 12. John Bateman 13. Shaun Fensom
14. Sia Soliola 15. Junior Paulo 16. Tom Learoyd-Lahrs 17. Blake Austin

FB was tough, Dugan, Milf, Wighton. I cant argue with him selecting Dugan, even if he left a bad taste in fans mouths. (I went Milf, but changed to Jack, as CNK isnt a deserved winner IMO).
Wing and centre are really easy, I took those 4, with Ferguson really the only other option at either position.
Five-Eighth is a choice of three 1 yr wonders - Campo '10 vs Jack '19 vs Austin '15. I went Campo, because he was the best player in the comp that yr, but wont argue against Jack given what he did this yr.
Half and hooker are no contests for Sezer and Hodgo.
Prop, with the addition of the bench, at least in this position you can choose 4. Now, IMO Mr Campton has 'found a place' for Bateman, meaning Papa gets a gig at prop, when he played far more backrow. I wont hate on him for it, even if I dont think its the way it should be selected. I agree that Shillo and Paulo would be in our top 4 props for the decade. However, Ill take Vaughan over TLL every day of the week. My 4th prop, as I have Papa in the BR, is a tough, coz its TLL vs Tilse vs Sia. I think Id use Sia as my bench BR/5th middle (as Mr Compton did), so its TLL impact vs Tilse consistency. To take Botmans 1 game philosophy, ill take the high ceiling, high impact guy in TLL. My 4 are therefore Shillo, Vaughan, Paulo, TLL.
Backrow, Whitey is an easy choice, IMO so is Papa, BUT, as he was picked at prop, you have a few guys with really similar standing in Thompson, Harrison, Tapine and Sia, and the 1 yr wonder Bateman. So, I can see why he did what he did.
Lock, IMO, its a no contest. Fensom was never the most talented bloke, and workhorse became obsolete before we moved him on, but he carried our pack for so many tough years doing the tough stuff. 40+ tackles and 80m plus wk in wk out is no joke.
The bench, well, we already have the 2 props, and I said that Sia is my extra, so its utility only. Given Mr Comptons picks, his options are probably Milf or Austin, and given that Blake can play all spine and backline positions, its a reasonable choice. I think it has to be 1 of Milf, Jack or Austin, depending on who you have a FB and 6.
