Curtis Scott signs with Canberra Raiders to end 2023

Re: Curtis Scott signs with Canberra Raiders to end 2023
BJ Mole reported Raiders interest in Storm centre Curtis Scott way back in 2002, but can now confirm it’s a done deal. Kaboom. (In true Mole tradition)

Great signing. We have 5 outstanding winger/centres in our squad. I don't care where they play but you can bet they'll all be in our best 17 if fit. I'd suggest Ricky will tell them the 4 with the best form start, regardless of reputation - which is brilliant. Oldfield and Kris as next cabs off the rank is awesome depth.

Pure gut feeling is that BJ will end up at the Tigers.

Good signing . I like Scott. He did smash Walker after all.
I think its the end of Joey though in Raider colours . Shame as he is a game breaker.

Scott in the #5 jersey for next year?
Re: Curtis Scott signs with Canberra Raiders to end 2023
That's tremendous depth in the outside backs.
Sam Williams a great depth player for our halves.
Would really like some strengthening of our middle forward depth. Will see.

It will be great if we keep BJ for at least a year. Adding quality to quality is what wins comps.

Best since Bulgarelli

He's an absolute ****. Also said this week Latrell was signing with Tigers on Tuesday.. he has since deleted that tweet.
Genuinely has no idea
Regarding Scott, good signing. Really happy with it.

Yep. Leilua didn't even play from the bench when coming back from his terrible injury. Scott's not being signed to play 14 and in his last game against the roosters Melbourne pushed Chambers to the wing for him so he's not playing badly.
For 2020 I think it'll be
4. Leilua
5. Scott
14. Simo

I think this is what it will be. Just remember, B Simmo is a rookie with around 20 games experience.zim wrote: ↑November 29, 2019, 12:46 pmYep. Curtis Scott's signing doesn't mean Joey Leilua has to leave: Canberra Raiders CEO Don Furner
Curtis Scott's addition to the Raiders roster for 2020 doesn't mean Joey Leilua will be forced out but it does mean Canberra have finalised their recruitment for next season.
"That's definitely it for us," CEO Don Furner said on Friday, after his club announced the Storm centre's imminent arrival on a four-year deal.

Re: Curtis Scott signs with Canberra Raiders to end 2023
Not sure how I feel about this until we get some kind of full confirmation about BJ (apart from his own). I don't see Scott as a winger and he hasn't come here to play at Mounties.
I do applaud the club though for being pro-active in trying to improve the squad and keep it fresh, instead of putting the feet up and resting. If anything, Scott gives us longevity that both BJ and Croker no longer provide.

Obviously we’ll need luck with injury/suspension etc... but if G. Williams is the upgrade I think (hope) he’ll be, Jack and CNK a full pre season together and our young Props continue their upward surge we should be in it up to our eye balls again!!

Re: Curtis Scott signs with Canberra Raiders to end 2023
Interesting to see how the team takes shape. Assuming the squad remains the same Scott could play right wing while BJ is there. Form and injury then dictate what happens from there.
Beyond 2020 its hard to see BJ remaining with the club given the length of Scott's deal. Whether this is a good or bad move by the club is yet to be seen, therefor I'll reserve judgment.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Re: Curtis Scott signs with Canberra Raiders to end 2023
A bit off topic but I thought his manager Sam Ayoub wasn’t keen on the Raiders? Has that changed in recent times?

DFJ comment that BJ wil have to 'work hard and fight for a spot like everyone else' says it all for me.

Either Croker to wing, or Leilua to 13 for mine
