So it is definitely a "joke"... or "prank"... but I don't get the joke, nor see how it is funny, really.

They would have a stack of cash with Chambers going and Smith having just 1 year left.
I've heard they still need to offload at least one top line player in addition to Chambers. But who knows...

Taking on someone like Leilua would be a massive risk for them. Back in the day, the Storm let go of the likes of Inglis and White because they knew that a successful team is built around your 9, 7 and 1.

In 12 months time, the greatest hooker of all time will have just hung up his boots, they still might not have landed on a decent halfback moving forward and their fullback would have just finished his second season. Somehow they have to rebuild around Cameron Munster who, like Milford, is not a guy that should be expected to direct the team around the park.

If I'm in the process of rebuilding that team, I'm not sure dropping $600k + per season on a veteran centre with a significant injury and disciplinary history would be my number 1 target.

Joey would have to get lucky to be on 600k+ after 2020.
But for Melbourne one of their centres is a cheapie, they've lost chambers and looks like scott. There's going to be decent money spent on a centre.

BJ is way better then Scott.. turner and Quinn made the nsw team under Bellamy.. Scott pffft
Salary cap and length of contract.

BJ is easily the better player right now, but he costs more, his contract is up for renewal at the end of the year and everyone knows BJ is a rocks and diamonds player. This could fill in with a very talented centre, on less money for a 2-3 year contract, and free up some cash to ensure we can compete with clubs for Wighton/Bateman/Cotric.
our window isnt endless.

We might be good next year or so..

A successful club is always in the win now process.. Once hodgsons effectiveness decreases which it will, this team decreases.

So was watching 9 news and Danny wielder is reporting that Josh Ado Carr is going to ask Melbourne for a release to come back to play for a Sydney club. Bloody hope this does not affect Curtis Scott coming here. Anyone got any real inside word on this???

Hmmm, that would be a weird signing for the panthers.

If i were running that club i dont think i'd ever spend significant money on outside backs, let alone imports... that RL nursery has a stead stream of really talented and athletic outside backs... and edge/impactful lower minute middle forwards too. It's loaded.

They need to spend money on a hooker and a half to pair up with Cleary (though there is Tyrone May and that Laui guy who have both flashed potential)... they can use some workrate middle forward too. Jai Arrow would be a better use of money than Addo-Carr imo

Their main signing so far is Korisau. Good signing as long as he can stay on the park.

Them not having an NRL quality hooker last year killed them. I think it has shown what a tremendous hooker Peter Wallace was once he made the shift. Played those seasons with no ACL too.

Wingers are quite important in the modern game.

one of melbournes strengths is the addo car and vunivalu strike on the edges and the assistance some make in getting your sets rolling forward.

I don't think May will be playing NRL anytime soon: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-pr ... 7b958517df

They might be thinking of play addo-carr at fullback.

Same reason the Raiders were never a chance while Glenny B was our main man. Gotta love the guy, but when he's playing for your team in the most important position in the modern game, you're gonna have a bad time.

Wests have pulled their offer to Mitchell, now throwing it at Addo-Carr.

I wonder then;

Addo-Carr -> Wests
Scott -> Canberra
Mitchell -> Melbourne?

I don't think that Craig Bellamy would put up with the rubbish behaviour reportedly coming out of the Mitchell camp. Player managers in general have worst reputations than used car salesmen and bankers... but his management seems to be reaching new levels.

The Storm have no history of playing silly buggers with player managers regarding player contracts!

Maybe Mitchell will end up at the Warriors back with old mate Peter O'Sullivan...he can play halfback...

I wonder if the tigers will end up landing bj so he can play with his brother. No question the leiluas would be thinking about it. If they are in the market for a strike outside back theyd be mad not to consider bj

Melbourne Storm back Curtis Scott reportedly agrees to terms to join Canberra Raiders on a four year deal

The Canberra Raiders have released star playmaker Aidan Sezer to join English Super League side, the Huddersfield Giants. But the Raiders are expected to announce their own signing news in the coming weeks. It’s understood Melbourne Storm centre Curtis Scott has agreed to terms to join the Raiders from season 2020 and beyond.

It would make sense that this signing was being put on hold until it was confirmed Sezer was heading out.
