2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
Robinson has complained more about refs and rules than Ricky Stuart has over the last two seasons. In fact Stuart has tried pretty hard to placate the referees of late.
I don’t see the media and people who got stuck into Ricky lining up to attack Robinson however.

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
So over 95% of the media coverage following the Roosters win in the GF is around the incorrect calls against the Raiders, including all of the Sydney papers... to the point that the betting companies (who virtually run the game) refund punters who tipped the Raiders... and the NRL responds with this rubbish? It's crazy that Robinson went so far as to put together a video of highlights to show Sutton (who is also a complete fraud) whinging about this! Do these guys have no humility in victory? No wonder the Roosters have become the most hated team in the NRL and the referees are quick to apologise to the Roosters but refuse any semblance of an apology to the Raiders... the NRL is a joke of an organisation.

I'd moved on completely from all this until I saw this article and another on the nine news site pop up... do these guys just love pissing off fans or what?
Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
It's beyond a joke now that the nrl has found cause to try and justify it.
Yet after "analysing it thoroughly"
They didn't find two luke keary attempted trips ?
Anyway, I'm over it.
More ammo for us next season....

The issue is the NRL hasn’t come out with such a statement.Neeeegz wrote:It's beyond a joke now that the nrl has found cause to try and justify it.

We are simply being asked to believe they have through a story leaked by the Roosters without a single person at that organisation having the guts to give a quote.
If the NRL has this view they should have the guts to come out and say it... or they should refute it. But they won’t, because they don’t have the morality or fortitude to do so.

Must say it's a somewhat ironic call given your almost legendary status of stringing out gameday threads this year.
This should be the last post this thread sees

By the way, I'd hate to see how salty Trent Robinson would be if the Roosters had lost!
Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
Imagine his reaction if the six again call had been against the Roosters and the Raiders had gone the length to score the Grand Final winning try.greeneyed wrote:By the way, I'd hate to see how salty Trent Robinson would be if the Roosters had lost!
Ricky bit his lip very hard. I’m confident Robinson wouldn’t have been quite so restrained.

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
You have to laugh at Robinson! If I'd just coached a team to a second consecutive grand final there is no way I would be sober enough to construct an email by the following Wednesday let alone have had time to go through the game in meticulous detail trying to find any perceived injustice!
My perspective on the game hasn't changed. We had out chances and couldn't put them away against a fantastic defensive team.
My perspective on Robinson has changed though. I used to dislike him in a passing way and think he was a bell end. Now I am absolutely convinced he is a **** of the highest order I will take boundless pleasure in any misfortune that falls his way!

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
I **** LOVE the fact they feel the need to defend their win like this.
The 2019 Grand Final. Henceforth known as the game nobody actually won.
It'll be even better if we win it next year and the media bring it up again by lauding our victory after getting robbed the previous year.
Bring it on.

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
I was good with the loss. I was disappointed, but I wasn't angry.
It was obviously perplexing that the rules state that the ball went to the roosters after the Falcon by their trainer, but that was the rule and I accepted it.
Live at the game I didn't realise that the #6again controversy had occurred. By the time I found out it was all done and dusted, there was no room for anger, disappointment had already consumed me.
But this really pisses me off. Despite the entire rugby league world being outraged by the calls against us, the NRL denies that there is a problem and refuses to apologise. After winning his second consecutive premiership in dubious circumstances, this **** pens an email to the NRL about how his team was slighted. 3. The NRL, despite all evidence to the contrary, allegedly admit that they got it wrong and apologise to him.
They can go **** themselves

Normally the whingeing is done by disgruntled fans, but, as shown by the ratio of supporters present at the GF, Easts don't have many and so Robinson had to step up and take their place. The "salary cap" allows them to buy a premiership, but supporters have to be won, not bought.

Interesting story, which reminds us that only the Storm and Raiders were never outside the top five teams in 2019: https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/11/13/lad ... -16-clubs/

Canberra Raiders hungry to go one better in 2020 says co-captain Jarrod Croker
The NRL grand final disappointment is still there for Canberra captain Jarrod Croker but he's adamant that hurt will spur the Raiders to go one better in 2020.
"It was disappointing there for the first little bit and we obviously got together and enjoyed each other's company for a couple of days and then went away from it all. It sort of sank in a little bit after that," Croker said.

I hope this year turns out to be like the Cowboys 7 tackle set - forever spoken about as how the team was robbed, which was a galvanising moment leading to their eventual premiership victory.

Had so many neutrals tell me how horrible it was and I still can’t discuss it without being **** filthy

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
Still can't quite believe the referees boss telling everyone that it was all good because the correct decision was ultimately made. Not only is that obviously contrary to the rules, but I have yet to see a single piece of footage that demonstrates that Tedesco didn't touch the ball.
And don't get me started on #Trainergate. The NRL are taking the piss if they don't sort out that ridiculous rule and the conduct of trainers.
