Just watching this doco series on Netflix called "The Family"... which is about the organisation behind the "National Prayer Breakfast" in the United States. It is worth watching.
Watched Catherine the Great tonight. First episode. Helen Mirren is of course a wonderful actress. But she’s in her 70s. She’s already past the age when Catherine the Great was dead. It is brilliantly produced, on location in the beautiful palaces of Russia. But it just doesn’t stack up. The casting is wrong. In the first episode, Catherine the Great would have been 35.
Just finished Season 3 of Atypical, was just as good as the first two
Also, for anyone who likes a really quirky but fantastically written show, try “The End of the **** World” (don’t edit that GE, that’s what it’s called!). They’re only 20 minute episodes but it’s bloody brilliant
Erin and I stumbled upon the first series by complete accident and watched the whole thing in one sitting. Started watching the second series last night and I think we’ve watched the whole thing in one sitting again bar the final episode
My wife and i are eager to get into season 3 of Atypical this weekend when she's on call. We'll rip through the entire 3rd season in a few nights i'd say
Love island looks like Big brother with more attractive people. Just sitting around talking rubbish. I watched about 5 minutes and couldn't take anymore.

I've just started watching Season 1.
Fantastic show.
Season 3 is better!

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
Another interesting show we stumbled on recently was "Living With Yourself". It's about a guy who goes to a "rejuvenation spa" to get the "best version" of himself.
But what they do is clone you and kill the original! But in his case the gas didn't work so he wakes up buried in a forest. Heads home and there's now two of him, his original self and a cloned, better version who has all of his memories.
It's really quite good and not long episodes. I hope there's a Season 2.
How can this be the final week of Love Island already?! Cartier looks like she's about to collapse. That whole thing was so sad. Made me more sad than I care to admit!

I'm surprised Botman and Mrs Botman are not watching Love Island.
As said above, we are absolutely in on this show. We caught it late though and are watching it intermittently on the app.
Was VERY pleased to see Eoghan hit the bricks in a recent ep we watched. He was a **** monster. Not a huge Adam fan either

I'll make sure I don't include any more spoilers in this case! Good to see someone appreciating compulsive television!
If you've not seen the film of Henry V with Kenneth Branagh... make sure you do. The moment of Shakespeare's speech to the troops was the only thing which felt anti climatic in The King.
If you can ever get the soundtrack to that film of Henry V... music by Simon Rattle. It is amazing. I have it on CD. Can't seem to find it on Apple Music. Non nobis domine. It's incredible music.
