Incredible article - honestly, one of the best ever written about the Raiders.Beejay wrote: ↑October 2, 2019, 8:46 am https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport ... cd0430f9d7
Has anyone else posted this article from Daily Telegraph Nick Campton?
Probably the best article ever written. Pretty much every person on this forum would be feeling these words more than anyone outside of the Raiders could ever imagine.

About the first time I have ever heard the word 'best' referred to a Daily Telegraph article.
Fittingly I can't read the article though.

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
I’ve been staunchly saying all year Havili should be on the bench given his output as a middle forward isn’t far enough behind our 3rd running bench forward to forfeit his injury coverage. But given his lack of game time of late I think it’s probably too late to revert to that selection given it’s a grand final.
I don’t think I could drop Lui at this point either. From the outside looking in I think he’s highly valued by the coaching and playing staff, can step up and play decent minutes when required and most importantly is a very good ‘defensive’ middle third defender. That sounds odd but his steady defence and mobility in defence Works well in combination with the others up the guts, most of whom are capable of punishing ‘attacking defence’. Havili is another one of the hits hard but not as mobile middle third defenders.
I just looked it up. Siliva Havili has played 31 minutes of first grade since round 21. He won’t play unless Hodgson is really crook or carrying injury imo.

On another note, the forecast temperature for Sunday has dropped off a bit, which is probably good news for us.

**** hell what a read!!
Thanks for sharing coastalraider.
How so many of our shared thoughts can be summed up in a single piece of writing is something to savour! and is the reason why so many of us were shedding tears at full time at bruce after the rabbits game.

PMs sent!
Bloody hell, if the DT does another decent article this week Im going to have to set up a mailing system - lucky the odds aren't high in that happening!
There seems to be a bit of a delay in them leaving my outbox, I guess its because all the mods have taken the day off to viking clap our boys out of town!

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
wonderful piece.
And perfectly sums up the feelings i have.
I do remember that last gf, i was 6 and whilst i treasure that memory, it does feel like it belonged to a different era, i didnt appreciate it for how special it was because i was **** 6 and had no idea what i was doing. haha.
This is a real shot for fans who missed those glory years to know what that is really like and to remind those who didnt what it feels like.
I hope our boys can give themselves and their fans this moment to cherish

- The boys really are a tight bunch! (bottom left row)
- I’d say this was taken yesterday? Hodgson looks photoshopped

Cheers Coastal - was a great read. It’s been a rocky road at times between drinks and I think understandably a fair bit of goodwill in the community was lost when the scandals were outnumbering the good performances. Things seem very much on track and there is a late 80s early 90s feel about things once again.
Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Hodgson photoshopped into the team picture is great lol.

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
People worry about distractions leading into big games around injuries and other things, I don’t think players are as easily distracted as we think but I’m not sure how Tedesco couldn’t be burning nervous energy right now. There are major expectations than in four days time he will be Rothmans medalist and back to back premiership player. No matter how relaxed he might like to think he is that has to be taking a toll. He’d be both wanting both badly and also fearful of missing out all at the same time. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was a little off his game come Sunday.
