How many does the venue hold? 181 say they're going within an hour lol
Re: Canberra Raiders fans unite for the Grand Final!
There is more capacity on Grand Final Day, as we understand it. Unfortunately, it is the only venue at Homebush outside the ground. The issue is that those people coming on buses find it difficult to get to another venue. On a train line... we could have gone for another venue on the line, but it is then difficult to get on the train.

Hence the problem with ANZ stadium (and sort of Bruce for that matter). Nothing beats the pub build ups in locations like Melbourne and Brissie and then just rolling into the ground.greeneyed wrote:There is more capacity on Grand Final Day, as we understand it. Does that mean it will likely be a roosters pre drinks meet up location too ?greeneyed wrote:There is more capacity on Grand Final Day, as we understand it. I hope the Roosters do have a piss up before the gameSid wrote:Does that mean it will likely be a roosters pre drinks meet up location too ?greeneyed wrote:There is more capacity on Grand Final Day, as we understand it. Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

No I don’t think so. Rooster supports are probably the snubiest unpatriotic (except a few) fans in the NRL. I live in Bondi and there is only a couple of flags up on the main strip.Sid wrote:Does that mean it will likely be a roosters pre drinks meet up location too ?greeneyed wrote:There is more capacity on Grand Final Day, as we understand it. It’s not there thing for fans to unite!
Re: Canberra Raiders fans unite for the Grand Final!
There is a new venue at Olympic Park called the Locker Room. Near that grass where the beef tents are for Origin.

They'll be random Roosters there but in terms of an organised meeting they're more likely to be out here in the east at the BJ league's club etc.LastRaider wrote:No I don’t think so. The other viable option is Abbattoir Blues - much better vibe than the soulless Brewery, and right across the station.

KW is keen on sticking with The Brewery... so we're sticking with that. I did like the look of The Locker Room though! Good there are some more venues about. Did look at Abattoir Blues... but it looked a bit small.

I’m with KW on this one, the Brewery is a good spot, pre-game. I went there before a match last year

The Brewery will be packed though, it’s always hard to get in there on Grand Final day no matter what time you arrive.
The Locker Room is new and hardly anyone knows about it. I think this could be better spot

Not a fan of the venue choice at all - it will be filled with neutral and Roosters fans, you will barely be able to move in there.
Re: Canberra Raiders fans unite for the Grand Final!
Yeah i was hoping the venue would be away from Homebush, but get that logistically thats difficult to do anything else
I dont plan on getting into the precinct until around 5:30-6, it's going to be a total **** fight in there.

Re: Canberra Raiders fans unite for the Grand Final!
I did try to convince KW to consider a venue change to The Locker Room... but he had the call. I do suspect that we're simply going to be everywhere out there.

Yes, I'll probably do that then head into the ground fairly early.Coastalraider wrote: ↑September 30, 2019, 3:37 pm NSW cup final kicks off at 1.35.

Doesn't matter where you choose, everyone's a critic!
There's not too many pubs around Olympic Park to cater for hundreds of patrons. It'll all be packed.

I think so - it looks like pass outs were given last year, but can’t find details for this year.thedevilingreen wrote: ↑September 30, 2019, 5:56 pm Can we get out once we are in too go to the pub?

These days with electronic tickets they allow anyone to get in and out, you just scan on the way out.

So keen. Its my birthday, first year back in Aus and I wind up living in Sydney and I'm bringing my brother along as a new bandwagon fan.
It's all coming up Archer!
