Huawei invite 2019 Canberra Raiders members to watch training before NRL Grand Final

Huawei Australia is proud to announce that it will host a special training session for Canberra Raiders members on Tuesday morning at GIO Stadium for the Raiders squad before the team departs for the NRL Grand Final in Sydney on Sunday 6th October.

As a special thank you to Raiders loyal club members Huawei and the Canberra Raiders will throw open the gate at GIO Stadium for Raiders members to watch the team train before they head to Sydney on Wednesday.

The GIO Stadium West Entry will open at 9.30AM with 2019 club members (on presentation of 2019 membership card). The first 500 members to arrive for the training session will receive a complimentary ‘Green Machine Sausage Sandwich’.

Canberra Raiders staff will be interviewed as the final training session takes place and the Huawei Viking Horn will be on display for photos.

In addition, Raiders members attending the training session will also get the chance to get themselves pictured in an exclusive team photo with the NRL Grand Final squad and coaching staff.

Commemorative Grand Final T-Shirts will be available to purchase (until stocks last), while food and beverage will also be available on site.

The special event will close at 11.30AM.

All Canberra Raiders members are welcome to attend the event but must bring their membership card along in order to guarantee admission.

2019 club Members will be emailed a link on Monday afternoon to gauge RSVP’s to assist us with catering for the event.

Lisa Connors, Manager Corporate Relations and Programs of Huawei Australia said:

“We are very excited to be hosting this special event for Raiders members ahead of the team departing to Sydney for the NRL Grand Final.

“Huawei is so proud of the way in which the Raiders have performed this season to make it all the way to the biggest match of the season for the first time in over twenty years.

“We want as many Raiders members as possible to get along to GIO Stadium on Tuesday morning to give the boys the best possible send-off before they head off to Sydney for the biggest match of their lives.”
Don Furner, Canberra Raiders CEO said:

“We’re proud to partner with Huawei to give our loyal members the opportunity to watch the team train before the Grand Final,” Furner said. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our most loyal supporters to wish the team all the best in what will be the biggest game for our club in 25 years.”

I really expect that most of the crowd will be pro Raiders. With the tickets sold to the Raiders supports as the first to qualify. Additionally ever person that don’t support Melbourne or the Roosters seem to going for the Raiders. Raiders v Melbourne will be very Raiders bias.

Still in shock after that. I'm flying in from Thailand for the big one. Will there be a GH meet up in the city before? I'm landing at 10am and keen to get on it asap!

Canberra Raiders star John Bateman making grand finals a habit

Another year, another grand final. John Bateman's extraordinary run is set to continue in the NRL decider. Aged just 25, the Canberra Raiders second-rower will play his fifth grand final in just six years when he runs onto ANZ Stadium next Sunday.

"I wish it were as easy as that, I wish it was. It's been a tough journey for us, but we're there now and that's what we spoke about," Bateman said.

I'm hoping it builds a little but it looks to be only friends and family in the crowd. I guess if we're being honest it's probably only family, neither of these sides have friends.

I realise Raiders will be underdogs no matter which of those 2 teams we come up against, however I wasn’t expecting Roosters to Still be premiership favourites having not played their prelim yet

Yeah I thought we would be favourites right now and possibly remain favourites if Melbourne go through. Who cares - make us a million to one - we will give this thing a good shake!!
