The damage was done by a headclash, not the contact
I couldn't see any intent, Knights head hit his bicep and then bounced into the other tacklers head.

Are you kidding?! His head hit the other bloke purely because JWH hit him in the head from the other side.

I think JWH deserved a week or two. There was contact with the head and he has a massive list of priors. Though with the inconsistency of the game I'm not at all surprised he got off.

Re: 2019 NRL Finals Week 1 - Teams and Game Day
I believe the Roosters are going to absolutely hand it to the bunnies on Friday. Not only is Keary a massive in but SST was the best front rower in the competition this year when fit and really very seriously elevates their performance.
I’m struggling to think of a stronger club side ive seen on paper for a very, very long time.
It’s hands down the best three quarter line in the finals. It’s also definitely the best spine (despite Friend being out) and the best middle third rotation now SST is back as well imo. That middle third is a close run thing with Cronulla if Fifita awakens in the finals though.

well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.
Re: 2019 NRL Finals Week 1 - Teams and Game Day
I also feel really sorry for Manly. I know everyone hates them but I’ve never understood why people under 35 or so now hate them. They’re the opposite sort of club to what people hated them for in the 70s/80s.
I enjoyed what they did this season almost as much as what we did. Loved Thompson and Sironen in the backrow outperforming most opposite numbers on a fraction of the wage. Garrick has been a super story, the 9s both work well and their middle third are not only tough but skillful.
They’re dead in the water though now. That team should have no hope against Cronulla. Sharks have been dreadful for the most part but gee running into that Manly side and then probably Souths could give them a sniff.

Re: 2019 NRL Finals Week 1 - Teams and Game Day
They'd be a tough opponent but we've beaten them twice this year and lost to manly twice. Something about manly puts us off our game.
In any event there's harder sides to beat than both those teams if we're to win this thing.
I'd like them to lose just because I know a lot of sharkies supporters

Agree, but if manly win week 1, they aren’t going any further. If the sharks win they just might cause enough annoyance for another week...zim wrote: ↑September 11, 2019, 1:08 pm They'd be a tough opponent but we've beaten them twice this year and lost to manly twice. Rabbitohs kick off at the Sydney Cricket Ground to start the finals clash with the Roosters.
Very poor crowd by the looks... particularly given that this is a match between two clubs that are based on the doorstep of the ground.

3rd min TRY ROOSTERS to Joseph Manu in the corner. The referee said no try on field... started by Cronk and that was just a bit easy. Simple quick hands through the back line. Latrell Mitchell fails to convert from out wide.

11th min TRY ROOSTERS to Mitch Aubusson. They had six players on the short side and they've easily caught out the Rabbitohs. They are blowing them off the park.

Do you need control or just downward pressure when your forcing it in goal?

30th min TRY ROOSTERS to Siosiua Taukeiaho. They've ruled the Rabbitohs did not ground the ball in goal... and the Roosters do. Doubtful call really, there must have been "some" downward pressure. Converted.

Re: 2019 NRL Finals Week 1 - Teams and Game Day
Don’t deserve a reversed decision for a possible grounding with 1 finger, when it was inconclusive.
Fair try.
Fair try.
Re: 2019 NRL Finals Week 1 - Teams and Game Day
If his going for a try there the bunker would slow it down and just be looking for the finger to be on the ball while the ball is on the ground (which it was).

Wow that was brilliant. Souths didn't do a lot wrong in defense. Roosters just moving it too quick.

36th min TRY ROOSTERS to James Tedesco. The Roosters are running riot. Great flick from Manu, then it is passed back inside for Tedesco. No conversion Mitchell. He's very inconsistent with his goal kicking.
