Re: 2019 Rd 25 V Warriors: Game Day
I hope Ricky acknowledges what a monumental **** up today was and gets on with it. This group has proved they have the resilience in them to not let one game affect all the hard work that's been done to get to this point.
This is not the mentally incompetent Raiders of the recent past.
Also goodbye Hudson, we need to maintain a high ethical and moral standard in our playing group. He clearly has an issue that needs addressing and I hope we assist him through that process when we inevitably cut him.

Really awesome season, a real shame it had to end on this note. Would be nice to have 2 games left

Never. The storm are a professional outfit.... dirty as they are. We simply got cocky and arrogant and deserved to lose this one.... no way our best players should have been rested, top4 sewn up or not. Im furious at the attitude we showed with this whole game in general.
Re: 2019 Rd 25 V Warriors: Game Day
The storm rest players all the time guys, around origin period and when it suits them.
You guys are nuts haha.
Bellemy doesnt like to rest players on the eve of the finals, so he manages their load during the year.

You can’t question Young’s commitment- when he didn’t find his eyes with his first go he kept searching.....

Whelp, we're off to Melbourne with zero momentum.
Hope resting half the team was worth it.

Re: 2019 Rd 25 V Warriors: Game Day
The poor commitment in defence was most disappointing. The RTS try in particular was pathetic. Some played with a sense of entitlement they have not earned. The Oldfield injury seemed to drain the focus from them.
Hudson Young - initial dis-belief which led to 'tear up his contract' anger. I better sleep on it. The club has given him every chance and been repaid like that????

If I was Ricky, I'd be walking in the sheds right now and telling Hudson Young to pack his bag and not come back.
Disgraceful.

Well, one thing hasn't changed this year and that's rickys abysmal bench usage

In the next week or two the boys will be playing a final at GIO.
I'm very concerned about our form at home..haven't won since beating the Tigers.

Young should have gone to wing when Oldfield went off - would have been your classic new for old replacement....

He was OK on some of our games. I'm not liking this Papalli for a full half and constantly wasting of fresh bench players though.Neeeegz wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 5:25 pm Well, one thing hasn't changed this year and that's rickys abysmal bench usage

Even more so if we are going to waste a bench spot 80% of the time anyway by not using them or throwing them on in the last five minutes why not carry a back for backup???

Yep was just going to say the same thing. I have more hope of us beating Storm in Melbourne than Parramatta/Sharks/Tigers 2nd week in Canberra.
We are mental midgets at home. Wouldn’t surprise me to see us go out in straight sets.

We can only wish, Suarez won games regular for club and country..love him or hate him he was clinicalNot_Easy_Being_Green wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 5:15 pm Hudson young has just become the Luis Suarez of the NRL. Clearly needs some professional help. We'd be lucky to see him playing again by mid season 2020.

I agree we have a better chance of defeating Storm in Melb then Roosters.edwahu wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 5:13 pmI'd definitely limit the media opportunities as much as possible. It will be all about Young.Peter wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 5:07 pm Would not waste a single ounce of energy on Hudson Young this week. He was never playing next week anyway, with Tapine back.
Take the guilty plea and focus on next weeks game.
People are forgetting we have a better record against Melbourne this year than the Roosters. It’s not all doom and gloom.
H Young ...OMG how stupid it’s like BJ stupid.

This is weird. Before this game was played a lot of us..including me weren't too fussed if we got beat.
Blokes rested, top 4 sewn up, blah blah.
But I'm dirty with that..real dirty !

It’s the way we lost. Really soft defence, ahead by 8 with 12 minutes to go.

Member's Appreciation Day, well I'm one member who didn't appreciate the day. Why do they save their most lacklustre and insipid performances for home? Hodgson was rocks and diamonds again.
It's a simple game; tackle, back-up, pass, hold the ball! What did I say? "Hold the bloody ball!!"

Agreed. I feel so weird and deflated. We simply didn’t treat this game with the respect it deserved. We are a good team but we aren’t “all time great” where we can come
In half-baked and still walk it in.
What makes us good is that we have a team
Of hungry, motivated players who are all pulling in the same directions.
I think the Hudson Young thing belied what most of us think/have been told this team is all about; buying in, pulling in the same direction, doing it for each other etc. And that is why we are all so disgusted with it.
What he did was thoughtless and selfish. We are now a man down for our finals campaign.

Stuart in presser claiming it wasn’t an eye gouge and hoping he gets the same as Maguire.

He’s a good bloke for sticking up for his
Players but there’s no way he’s convincing any one that it wasn’t multiple attempts at blatant eye gouging. Hudson sat out for 5 weeks for it last time and I can’t believe he would be dumb enough to put his hands near peoples faces again.

The footage is damning. The fact that he goes for a second crack at the face means he’s gone and deservedly so.

Re: 2019 Rd 25 V Warriors: Game Day
I'm sure you have arms and legs though. When you cuddle your parents do you accidentally grab their ****? A stray finger in the eye when players are running into each other at speed, possible. Not when it's trying to slow the play down like that, while he may not be going for the eye gouge he is certainly doing a face grab on purpose.Drandyt wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 5:54 pmAny you guys that have played league, I haven't, is there any chance Young is unintentionally raking the eyes?gangrenous wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 5:51 pmThat’s a terrible approachTongueFTW wrote:Stuart in presser claiming it wasn’t an eye gouge and hoping he gets the same as Maguire.

Re: 2019 Rd 25 V Warriors: Game Day
So far the difference between Hudson and Redhorse is that Redhorse seems to have learned from his earlier indiscretions. This is why he will be a key part of the finals campaign.
Re: 2019 Rd 25 V Warriors: Game Day
Precisely. It's just such a terrible way to play a game attitude wise one game before the semis. There are certain folk on here who strut around like it doesn't matter an iota, but I'm in the other camp.Mickey_Raider wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 5:43 pmAgreed. I feel so weird and deflated. That said, in 2016 we went in with a big win last round and huge expectation leading into the finals, played at home and lost week 1. This time my expectations are going to be very low after that performance and we've gone in after a poor loss. We are terrible at home and much better away - so maybe we'll be ok? Shrug.
Re: 2019 Rd 25 V Warriors: Game Day
Agreed but they’re not our best 2 players.Lucky wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 5:07 pmIf Bateman and Klockstad play I reckon we get the job done.julian87 wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 5:00 pmWe definitely didn’t rest our 2 best players?Lucky wrote: ↑September 7, 2019, 4:57 pm
Deadset.... Absolutely pathetic. Such a typical raiders thing to do.....
Hows that decision to rest our 2 best players looking now. ****. In hindsight it has single handedly derailed our season. Now we have to take on the cap rorters in melbourne of which we have a 22% winning record against.....
Ill disciplined garbage today, ESPECIALLY from Lui.... we play like that next week and the storm put 40 on us....
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Excluding two halves of footy, the past 5 weeks have been deeply mediocre from us.
